The stewpidity of the black man knows no end.
Why buy an expensive automated machine draining your meager dollars when you have millions of people who are unemployed/underemployed who need the job?
What manner of prioritisation
And the deprived citizens, who are without electricity, clinics, water, schools etc, will be applauding this even on nairaland where the supposed enlightened youths are?
We will suffer forever if we don't mend our ways.

Before now some of the equipments he acquired for Anambra road maintenance agency (ARMA)

Beyond the equipment how has the payroll grown in terms of newly employed civil servants, teachers, doctors, nurses, water engineers, librarians etc each year?

Why wasting money for what bare hands can do faster than your automatic pothole machine.

If you here the amount use for the project , you will shout , chisos! Another way of milking money...

Obiano, you do well...

Hopefully, the machines are not for Awka alone.

In Imo state, Owerri people must make sure the govt deploys the machines for only Owerri roads .

Imo now is a state of build and destroy and rebuild in Owerri, nothing to build or destroy to rebuild outside Owerri.

I wanted to laugh but is not funny

You have made this statement more than twice.

You know owerri is the capital though

That is just fantastic. We should all imbibe a maintenance culture not waiting for stuff to get so bad it will require a kings ransome to fix. There are streets and highways in developed nations that haven't been reconstructed in several decades but you can clearly see where they are constantly retouched. Far cheaper, quicker and saves a lot of damage to automobiles.

It is not a project. It is an agency, civil servants aquiring tools and equipment to enhance their work. The expatriate you see is probably demonstrating the use of the equipment and no more.

We can only watch and suffer the consequences of a flawed system of governance we are determined to keep in place. This is one of the little problems we suffer that restructuring shoukd fix. How?

That is Murtala Mohd highway. It is a Federal road. Like in most states. The most important artierial roads traditionally belong to the Federal government which in effect linked state capitals with each other right up to their doorsteps. Why is this. Why should the Federal government own roads in state capitals.

From 1999 there was this arrangement whereby state governments could repaor and reconstruct federal roads in their domains and get a reimbursement from the Fedral government through the Ministry of Works but typically the Federal government racked up such huge debts it totally destroyed the arrangement.

Today by best practice state citizens cannot hold their governments to account for bad rods which donot belong to the state so such roads as this, Aba Road in Portharcourt and other high usage, critical roads are often in the worst possible shape.

I think the citizens of this country should demand that things change so that they can hold their immediate and neighbourhood governments accountable instead of waitimg for a Federal government far away and too busy with other things to bother. Roads in Cross-River are in a terrible state of disrepair more than I have ever seen them.

Can't Innoson be contracted to produce such machine and maintain them?

This is true, the entire Imo state is a total mess and eyesore particularly Owerri. You need to be there to see how horrible Owerri town is. Shameful

Go and remove the gully erosions before talking about bad roads.. . Remove the beam in your eyes before removing the speckle in your neighbor's eye.
