The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced its intention to close its portal for the uploading of results for the 2019 Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) at midnight, August 20, 2019.

The decision, however turned out to be an unpopular one, as candidates from other JUPEB centres who had preselected UNILORIN as their choice of institution for admission but were yet to receive their results, kicked against the sudden rush by the university to close its portal.

One of the candidates who spoke to our medium on condition of anonymity, accused the management of foul play, stressing that while candidates of other universities who participated in the 2019 JUPEB exams were yet to receive their results, the internal candidates from UNILORIN who received theirs today, August 20, had been informed to immediately upload their results on the portal, which the management stated would be closed by midnight same day.


The aggrieved candidate berated the University of Ilorin for inordinately nursing plans to admit only students who sat for the exams in the institution while shutting out candidates from other institutions who chose UNILORIN as their preferred choice.

Another embittered candidate who confided to our reporters, urged the Federal Government and the National University Commission to intervene in the looming crisis before it escalates into a protest.

We also learnt that the management of the University of Ilorin, had yesterday issued a notice to all internal JUPEB candidates to immediately upload their results on the portal prior to the midnight deadline.

The message reads:

“This is to inform all students that the collection of results is tomorrow. Please you are expected to upload your results immediately you get it, because Unilorin portal will close at exactly 12 midnight, 20th August, 2019. Upload as soon as you get your results irrespective of your points to be on the safe side.

“Time: 10am, Venue: Science Education at Mr Badmus’ office.”

JUPEB is one of the available options to gain admission into Nigerian universities.

I think people need to find out about schools before they choose it.
As a UNILORIN Alumni, I know that unilorin do give candidates time to upload their results and is left for the candidates to meet up with their admissions requirements.
Even as a student you must pay your school fees before closing date that is giving out on the school calendar, which usually comes before first semester examination.

Unilag need to be questioned bcoz why will dey released only Unilorin JUPEB result and all others Universities result are yet to be release? Unilorin must be charge to court for discriminate others Universities JUPEB result and the board has named the exam has *JOINT Universities primilary Examination Board*.....Dis is a serious issue bcoz dey have collected money for post utme form and the students after pass through series of coaching in in other to pass the post utme exam.....not knowing dat Unilorin has there planned of closing the portal...after all the time spent and Unilorin exam stress for the students.... Unilorin management shld think deeply after taking dis action bcoz one day we die n we bring nothing to this world and remember ur children is out der...God will see d students thru

Na lie...!!! D university is closing its portal , both for UTME and DE. They waited for 1 month for everybody to upload their results so that they can capture their data and conclude admissions. By next month d admission list will come out. By october dem go resume. Pls dont believe everything these bloggers tell u.

Unilorin adhere to her academical calender religiously, there is no foul play here at all. closing of portal around this date is not new to anybody that's familiar with Unilorin admission process. Unilorin no dey carry last at all.

That is why there is JAMB brochure and also Universities' website . You go there to find information about a particular university before you choose the university. If you dont have d requirement for a particular Univetsity, DONT choose d@ university.

UNILORIN is a very different University entirely, their academic calendar is very precise. Right now, they are on holidays na only sandwich programme dey in session.By september, dem go release list. By october, dem go resume new session and by June/July 2020 e sure say d session must end. Its NOT negotiable. If u want to use JUPEB its better to do JUPEB in Ilorin so that u can meetup with their admissions. Infact, all schools in Kwara follow UNILORIN'S calendar except Kwasu which is a bit faster than UNILORIN

If you were a jupeb Student will you be saying this?
An affected Student is crying out to the public for help and you are saying consult jamb brochure. If unilorin jupeb was not released will that portal be closed.
When you see the truth say it and stop bringing in different things.
