That's part of the problems of the country.
A journalist, accountant and politician is in charge of Education ministry.
No Professor, or former VC, someone from the academic sector to be a minister.
Later we start complaining about drop in educational standard
how is having a professional in charge of a ministry has helped us? How have profs and Drs in charge of health ministry helped us?
One of the best health ministers wasn't even a doctor, I mean prof Eyitayo Lambo.
Ministers are just ensure implementation of government policies

Nigeria's Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu is many things to different people.

He is one of the few Ministers from the last Cabinet who retained their portfolio.

Many Nigerians admit that it may be due to his loyalty to the president, while others feel it may due to his performance in his first term as Minister.

Check out 9 things you never knew about the Accountant turned Journalist:

1. Adamu was born on 25 May 1956 in Katagum, Bauchi State
2. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University where he obtained bachelor's degree in Accounting
3. Adamu is polyglot, being fluent in Arabic, Persian, Fulfulde, Hausa and French.
4. Adamu Adamu got hired as an accountant at CCP immediately after graduation and then continued to work at the CNL in Bauchi State, before joining the local government in the same position.
5. However, after deciding that he needs another challenge, he thereafter proceeded to Columbia University’s School of Journalism where he obtained a master's degree in Journalism.
6. He took his first newspaper editor job in 1984 but made a name for himself as a columnist for Daily Trust. During those years, he became known as an active commentator on the events that transpired in Nigeria.
7. For a couple of years, the Minister of Education served as a Personal Assistant to late Chief Soloman Lar, one of the original supporters of the PDP and its first national chairman.
8. He has been a loyal follower of President Muhammadu Buhari for years before the latter was elected the President of Nigeria.
9. He was first appointed Minister of Education by President Muhammadu Buhari on November 2015 and now has been redeployed back to the Ministry.
Why do you think he was able to retain his portfolio in this 'next level' cabinet? Feel free to comment.

You obviously don't know him very well, perhaps because of your age. During the first gulf War (1990) he wrote a very popular column in the defunct kaduna based weekly news magazine Citizen titled 'Definitions in Humour'. That was when he made a name for himself, not with Daily Trust newspapers.

Inisyers are just administrators or monitoring on supervisory role. You just mentioned PROFESSOR Lambo. He has a good predegree.
PROFESSOR Fafunwa, makes them understand and perform better.
What's wrong with ADAMS OSHIOMOLE as a labour minister? Will he not be better than a Dr Ngige?
Whatever makes a retired senior military personnel good for defence ministry. Same could also be apolicable to others.
Those are the logics.
