Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), has reportedly ordered members of his group to disgrace and arrest President Muhammadu Buhari in Japan.

The order is coming a week after Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy Senate President, was assaulted by members of the secessionist group seeking the restoration of the defunct Biafra Republic.

Mr Buhari is scheduled to visit Japan on Sunday and participate in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development, holding in the City of Yokohama from August 28-30, 2019, according to a statement from presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

But in a tweet on Saturday the IPOB leader urged members of his group to disgrace and arrest the president and hand him over to Japanese authorities.

“A call to action. If you’re from Biafra, Yoruba, Hausa, Middle Belt, living in Japan, it’s our responsibility to ensure that the impostor Jubril-Buhari is disgraced and arrested,” he said.

“Enough is enough! Our destiny is in our hands. #RevolutionIsNow,” he added while accompanying the tweet with an image showing the face of the president in 2016 and 2019.

Mr Kanu handed a similar order to members of his group, urging them to attack political leaders from the South East.

Punch Newspaper is reporting that the order has prevented state governors and leaders from the geo-political zone from embarking on foreign trip over fear of being attacked.

It is unclear as at press time if the president will still embark on the journey as planned.
