I am so scared, what Nigeria health care system is turning into, we keep on losing friends and family, due to poor health care machinery and fascilities whiuch are supposed to be at our own host for free or cheaper rate. But, all that happens when an emergency comes up is that hospitals, Government and Private owned can not handle some health cases and all seems to give an option of other bigger hospitals in Lagos, which is always LUTH and at the end of the day, before the patient(s) is being transferred to LUTH they lose their breath, Please why, is it lack of Professionals or Fascilities?

There are 2 tertiary health care facilities in lagos state which are LASUTH & LUTH. The both of them can boast of standard medical facilities. However, for the past 10 weeks, lagos state doctors have been on strike. This means all patients in lagos state that would have used the LASUTH(which hitherto caters for about 70% of cases), the 7 maternal and child health centres, the over 20 general hospitals, children hospitals et al have to be referred to luth.
You don't want to imagine the overpopulation in the wards. Hundreds of patients are turned back daily.
Ure wondering what ppl in govt are doing. 10 weeks. You don't want to imagine how many lives would have been lost. Someone you know or you've seen before has suffered frm this negligence!

Its quite crazy, I just lost a medical friend to this, even when he was there in school. Its a funny scenerio, their doctors were on strike and this led to the death of one of their best student , Its was a big bloww.
