If you need new clothes, you ask from your parents or anyone that can be of help. Same with prayer. Even if he knows all, he is simply waiting 4 to ask.

To me prayer is a waste of time God's will won't change. If you pray before embarking on a journey it doesn't guarantee accident free journey. So why pray Where as u may not pray and get to your destination

If you have been predestined to be poor, praying to be rich is waste of time except you want God to change his mind.

And those quoting if you have to ask your parents for school fees and feeding them you should ask God through prayers, but they forget rich kids don't need to ask before it is done. Some don't even know when their fees is being paid. Spirituality and religion is just complicated.

God can never make a move on earth without a mans cooperation in one way or another be it prayer,obedience, love, righteousness etc.God's not a man like you. He cannot reverse his decrees. They are like a chemical change and that's why he put you on earth first before you meet him in heaven so as you learn to accept the laws of earth you will also learn to cooperate with heavenly laws and then join him in heaven. The irreversible decree here is in Ps 115:16 so it's only men that can bring God to this earthly scene and that's why the Lord Jesus asked us to pray his kingdom come and his will be done. It is true that we are predestined by God but a lot is required of us to bring that calling into manifestation since there is always a contest and battle for the fulfilment of our purpose.

The birth of Jesus was predicted in the book of Isaiah. In spite being the son of God, a woman we rarely talk about in the Bible spent 84 years of her life praying and fasting in a temple for the manifestation of that prophecy. She was a prophetess, by the name Anna (Luke 2:36) [not the same Hannah, mother of Samuel in the old testament]

We rarely remember the efforts of people like Anna today. In fact, asides the birth process which of course Mary (whom some people have turned to idols) played a role, a lot do not understand key factors in the fulfilment of his Ministry on earth.

If a woman could do nothing for 84 years but fasting and praying consistently for the birth of the son of God, then we don't have any excuse why we shouldn't pray.

So Why Do We Pray? One of the greatest Christian Privilege is Prayer and according to the Bible, we are admonished to never allow anxiety to rule our lives but by prayer and supplication, our request should be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

It is necessary that all of us learn how to pray more and better everyday, but a major reason why we have not been praying more is that there are questions about prayer we need answers to.

Prayer is a powerful medium that brings us closer to God. Prayer renews and transforms us and it builds our spiritual life

3. Jesus Laid The Example of Prayer.
Jesus life and ministry on earth teaches us how he was in constant communication and fellowship with his father. There was no way he could know the mind of his father is he was not communicating with him. If Jesus who was sinless could seek after the father and pray always, how much more we, humans, need to do his will and pray always.

In Conclusion
God cares for us and that is why we should pray (1 Peter 5:7). God has placed so much interest in us that he wants us to get him involved in our daily activities. Our father is a great listener and he promises to help, protect, preserve and fulfill all his promises over our lives.

Nice one, but it appears you left out the primary purpose of prayer which is the obedience of God's Word.

Matthew 26:41 (KJV)

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

To obey God's Word means the same thing as not falling into sin or temptation, and the reason the tempter comes to a person is make that person disobey God's Word, so prayer helps the person to make the tempter not succeed.

For a human being consists of two parts, the flesh and the spirit.

So while the flesh which emanated from the world is inclined to the things of the world such as sin and disobedience of God's Word, the spirit which came from God is inclined to the things of God such as the obedience of God's Word.

So prayer helps a human, who is also flesh, to interact with his spirit side life which is inclined to the obedience of God's Word, and hence helps the person not to sin or fall into temptation.

The above notwithstanding, let me attempt to respond to your question as follows:

God is the Almighty - YES. However, He doesn't impose His will; one reason you and I have a free will. Unfortunately, the Omniscient nature of the Almighty God makes him come across as one who determined the destiny of all flesh. His Omnipotence also makes it further difficult for many to see him as good.

But, come to think of it, God sees the end from the beginning and puts plans in place to address issues to come. God knew what choices Adam and Eve, King Saul, King David, Judas Iscariot, Peter etc. would make before they made them and He made his decision based on what he saw upfront.

The question many of us begin to ask is "why didn't he stop men from making the wrong choices?". I believe He has the power to do so, but coercion isn't an act of love. So, the embodiment of love himself cannot be seen as such. But then, He gives second chances out of his benevolence.

God put man on earth not to suffer but coz he wanted him to be a part of a heavenly kingdom that has dos and donuts with real repercussions. Here is like a training ground so he wouldn't make costly mistakes in this heavenly kingdom. All the suffering of man on earth is due to one man's or another's wrong. So we can learn from this the consequence of not choosing Gods choices. However God has also provided a way out of all suffering which is choosing his ways, the more we do the better things will get with time.

About your second point, God has a preordained plan for everyone but he doesn't force us into it and yeah, it may never materialise for us if we don't follow his plans and demands. So the way God is in control is that WITH TIME his preordained will will eventually come to pass if not with you then someone else and if not today then tomorrow but surely

Preordaining someone's life means you already determine their life, how is freewill gonna work here?

You can't have freewill and again God has already predestined what your end will be, it's conflicting.
