The northern elites are their major problem. Educate the masses and watch poverty disappear
Education in the direction of empowerment and supporting them with tools and soft loans to kick-start their business.

Sir it happens all the time.
Why won't it happen in a country where the leaders have failed the people?
Where the people have failed themselves?

in the North, Rulers are born while in the South leaders are made....

Leaders serve thier followers deligently,

Followers serve thier Rulers religiously

a Leader, gave his people free education, builds Colleges and Teaching hospitals, builds First telivission and radio station, gave his farmers seedlings and sold thier produce overseas on thier behalf

Recently, an electrician I know lost his wife and unborn child during delivery. The hospital had been reluctant to commence a caeserian operation because of cost.

That didn't shock me as much as learning that was to be his 4th child. Couldn't he have stopped at 2?

Poor human development is really a big hindrance

sad reality is an average Hausa Northern is a baby factory and the male are on f**king spree with reckless abandon.

Someone who can barely meet his/her daily personal needs will be popping out babies yearly like there's an award attached to it.

I don't what the North problem is: weather is religion, Culture or illiteracy.

This poverty is precisely why they need to tackle overpopulation in the north and increase education. The first step they should take is banning polygyny which causes competition between wives and leads to high birth rates. People produce 20 kids when they can only look after 5 and then this happens along with things like boko haram

Why don't you just mention the great sage called late Obafemi Awolowo.

He is an iconic legend.I do imagine if we have about 30 people like him.

Naija would be a paradise.

As he has said many times, population control is necessary in the North. Having children that we can't care for is sinful. Unfortunately, people hide under the "go ye and multiply" mantra to breed without control. Sadly they forget to read or ignore the fact that God states in clear terms that our children are our responsibility.
God bless you. Both Christians and Muslims are guilty of this. Not just only tribe.

Nigeria is a failure of history. Nigeria should never have existed under the existing dynamics. It should have existed as a confederacy of nations.
The destiny of the country had been hijacked from '66 by military cowboys and other accidents of history in-between.What this coterie of irresponsibles do is to serve power;to accentuate their self-willed ,self-seeking and self-serving goals under man-made crisis. From fuel scarcity to insurgencies, and now to the coupling of kidnapping and armed banditry.
Sadly, however, there's a missing generation-apart from a pocket of revolutionaries here and there- that should be testifying against the corruption, misrule and legendary irresponsibility of successive governments; they need to be speaking the truth to power always. But that generation is missing. And the present government is trampling over a prostrate people-languid and timid, sentenced into stunned subservience.

Under Buhari,
the reality is that $5 (about N2000)
is a big money.

Especially when you consider that
with minimum wage is still stuck at
N18k, with Buhari & Ngige employing all
kinds of tricks & gimmicks to stop or
delay the implementation on the N3Ok

So, the current minimum wage is $50/ month
or about $2daily..

Only God knows the damage them man
& his bunch of incompetents have done
this country.

The people get the kind of government they deserve, nobody put gun on their heads to vote buhari,in voting buhari they were not looking for service, they have other reasons, give them another opportunity tomorrow, they will vote a worse incompetent person, the people are their own worst enemies

Very stupid post.
It would be of great value if @OP and Nigerians were interested in his story/message instead of the rubbish reported above.
Sanusi shared same during a landmark anniversary celebration of one of the first generation banks.

.. .. and so, should be ignored?

Nothing strange here. As long as we support use of public funds to buy salah ram and build mosques, our leaders will continue to equally use public fund for their own private use and the masses will always be exposed to situations like this.

Rubbish. We had Sir Ahmadu Bello too in the North.

We are talking of the present. Mention any of your leader in the South better than Sanusi lamido(fearless, bold) not asslickers you have down south

Very stupid Emir shedding crocodile tears after carting away his own share of the national cake.

He directly or indirectly destroyed what is left of this shithole

He should channel his tears to his fellow born to rule brothers

When Sanusi was fighting the Northern elite about these issues, not a single one of you people supported him. He nearly lost his seat and nobody protested on his behalf.

Only in Nigeria do the cowards mock and deride the brave.

ednut1:

The Rolls-Royce belongs to the kano emirate, not Sanusi. He can't sell it .
