where can a sociology graduates work? :as an industrial sociology, u can work in any organization as either their personel manager or HR using scientific method to proffer solution to the output example of the is shown in Hawthorne experiment.
sociology graduates can also work medical line,like we have social department in some hospital in Nigeria and western world, their responsibilities is to make researches on the source of an epidemic and proffer solutions... note, they don't treat or administer drugs...
they work in agencies like national population commission, INEC, e. t. c using their demographic knowledge..
they r security expert using their knowledge of criminology
they work in NGo's to mention few.

Nigerian Armed forces, Nigerian Police, Nigerian Correctional services services, DSS, and intelligence agencies. Most importantly NGO. Those foreign NGO's love working with them. If this insecurity continues in the north east and other part of the country your sister is guaranteed a Job especially if she has starts working with the smaller ones.

I also studied Sociology, i have never for one day regretted studying this course. As a Sociologists, you stand a very high chance of getting INGO jobs. Try and visit some of these job sites, you will see that some of the most advertise jobs required people that studied Sociology.
In another development, Nigeria today; it is not by your course of study. What matters is what you can offer. My advice is that you should allow her study the course. But she should try and acquire some Research skills like: Analytical skills using SPSS, Atlas.t etc. It is her skills that will further give her an edge to get a very good job.

Mass communications is not anything better than Sociology. It all depends on your sister.

Sociologists are social engineers. They quest for social reformation. Truth be told, it can be difficult for a sociologist, who doesn't know the why and what to succeed with the course. Such a person will only lament all his life, complaining about nothing.

I'm a sociologist myself. And my course mates and I have accomplished a lot of great things you would see with those people with supposedly great courses.

The secret is to start early. If you have the resources, invest in professional courses, especially IT-inclined. Just open your mind, face your study and pray too.

Remember, unemployment is a social phenomenon, and it has nothing to do with studying sociology or some seemingly fantastic courses. Of course, there are thousands of law and engineering graduates out there trying hard to make ends meet.
