Ubdavis: Lagos is suffering a dearth of road networks and even at that 70% of the available roads are unmotorable , a state where 99% don't have any access to pipeborne water supply and 80% no access to proper toilets ...do you think this is what the should be discussing today? 1 Like |

FarahAideed: You cannot impose your priorities neither would you suppress the wishes of any other. By the way, are you, a visitor to Lagos, going to determine for the indigenes how they must celebrate or even govern themselves? Talk about tyranny. 7 Likes 1 Share |

The problem with this is that they need to first understand the structure and mode of operation of the traditionalists... Unlike their Christian and Muslim contemporaries, traditional religionists don't have a uniform festival. The ifa guys can have up to 200 festivals, Obatala, Osun, Yemoja, Baluaye, Esu, Eluku, Oro, Eleiye etc. Will also opt for different dates to mark their festivals. It will turn out that Lagos might have all days in the annual calendar as public holidays! 3 Likes |

This is good news.. Ali mazrui said in his famous documentary The African- A Tripple Heritage, Africa recognizes the western religion which have holiday but it's own tradition has no holiday. 3 Likes 1 Share |

ijustdey:It is needless to celebrate a backward and evil religion. Cultural day holiday is not a bad idea but holiday for traditional worshippers is a step backward considering the past deeds of the traditional religion which includes killing of twins, human sacrifices,Female genital mutilation etc. Most of these bizzare practices are still practiced though in an hidden way. If you check on youtube a mad man that calls himself a native doctor(traditional religionist) is giving some lazy boys charms to use in scamming foreigners and the government wants to celebrate such a religion. 3 Likes |

voltron14:No politician accepts he is a traditional religionist, they either say they are Christains or muslims. Traditional religion has done more harm than good in nigeria. An holiday to celebrate the culture of a people is not a bad idea but an holiday for traditional religion is an anti-civilisation step . 2 Likes 1 Share |
