Untill the 3rd mainland bridge falls down or the Abuja airport catches fire before this useless government knows that this policy has no weight or direction for the Nigerian economy. Buhari has a way of destroying any thing that he touches.

LAGOS – As the impact of the closure of Nigerian land borders continues to bite, more than 98 firms operating in the country have relocated to other countries in West Africa in the past three weeks, while others have lost millions of naira and are near collapse.

Comrade Saviour Iche, the national president of the Association of Micro-Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (AMEN), made the disclosure while speaking at a press conference in Lagos at the weekend.

He stated the said the companies moved to other countries because of the negative impact the border closure was having on their businesses, adding that many others will follow suit if the situation persist.

He said that operating environment in other countries in west Africa are better, adding that governments of other countries offer incentives and support to entrepreneurs.

He said the closure of the borders has had some positive effect like increased revenue for the government, but argued that the negative impact was greater on the general economy.

According to him, there are many Nigerian businesses that export their goods and services across Nigerian borders, adding that most of these companies are losing millions of naira on a daily basis.

Iche disclosed that many of them have reduced their operations and their number of workers, adding that if the situation continues, many of them will close shop soon.

Lol lies, I can tell you this is the first time sense Nigerians agree on this decision this government has taken, it's only people who benefit from the illegalities of smuggling that are crying very loud, it only goes to show how other human beings want to benefit from others suffering, these other neighboring countries don't care about us, they don't care if we return back to recession knowing well what smuggling and importation without exportation has been doing to our economy, waitoo come to think of it, which major product do we export to these neighboring countries that yields good revenue for us??

Things like this must surely happen if decision like what the government took was taking without due notification. However, it will be so foolish of someone to think such never happened? Guy your thinking is too extra low.

N5bn minimum. Some days, they made N9bn. I know many Nigerians importing rice mills as we speak. Ogun state and Lagos state planning their own CBN type anchor borrower schemes. We are talking additional 50,000 ha between Lagos, Ogun and Ondo. Dangote doing it bug in Oyo State. Almost all the northern states have one rice project or the other. Coscharis has opened in Anambra.

Empty headed youths should let this opportunity pass....or may he waiting for a 74 year old Caneroonian from Adamawa state to cum. Old people dont cum that fast, usually they dont.

I hope these relocating companies are not like lottery jackpot winners: we keep hearing of them, they swear they exist but nobody has ever met one.

Weather we like it or not, border closure is negatively affecting us and it ll be worse in the long run. We should stop setting dangerous precedence and work out effective ways dealing with smuggling with the support of neighboring countries. Having said that, our customs officers re encouraging smuggling too

I pray.

Super story, where will they relocate to when the market is here in Nigeria and those that left when Nigeria was in recession are now regretting it and are looking for ways to come back.

My own take is that this border closure should have happened ay the early stages of planting season to prepare farmers to farm more lands and cultivate more rice farms, and secondly government should do something urgently about electricity as it is one of the major reasons industries relocated to Ghana in the first place and electricity availability will bring more industries to come to Nigeria as we have the population and petro dollars which makes Nigeria a sgrong market.
farm more lands wit which money ?

Mischievous news.

Nigerian market is more than enough to sell any product.

Only companies engaged in smuggling will relocate.

When we are not yet filled they are exporting.
Why are they relocating when local market has been created for their goods and services.
