That's the issue. Reorientation is of utmost importance right now. Looking irredeemable day after day.

The problem of this country in one write-up.

It is not PDP or APC, but the type of democracy we currently practice.

This is laughable and regrettable too. It is an Almagiri culture. When did it permeate into Yari.ba culture?

By God's grace, I have since come to understand that Nigeria's problem is the general population of Nigerians; from our topmost Oga to the humblest cleaner. It is well.

Caveat lector... Local man made sense.. Some lawmakers in advanced countries do still ride bicycles to work.. In Nigeria we put dem on a Peder stone and expect them to live like they just robbed a bank

it is rather unfortunate that an ex senator thinks Nigerians are gullible. What we should ask him is what he does before becoming a senator. We are not fools. We know he is one of Tinubu's hand man and will still be relevant in present APC. However, i have my reserve when he said Nigerians keep bothering him. That is an insult. Even his immediate families knows he is tight fisted. Rubbish! cry

But you are still the SA to the president now , talking as if you are broke grin .

On a more serious note, those demanding everything about their life finance from politicians and those collecting money before voting them are the problem of this country, not Buhari or anyone of them.

By constantly demanding for financial aids , they change 2 to 22 just to satisfy your greed.

Good with writing. Nice reading an intelligent writeup

Ah, ah. No offense meant; you are probably very young.

Babafemi Ojudu was (is) a veteran journalist, of “The News”, “Razor” fame, and a wordsmith. I didn’t expect less from anything he writes...

He was one of the few journalists who were truly pro-democracy icons (not the give-us-money-for-mobilization, “enu gbe” pro-democracy louts of today); he was jailed several times, and was almost killed by Abacha, the wicked despot!

Ojudu earned his stripes. Completely.

It’s not easy to be a politician in Nigeria. The expectations are much; you have to show affluence else nothing for you.

I have always maintained that the masses need to look beyond peanuts. Even in the university, if you want to contest for a post in your department, they'll ask you to go and see this one, that one and so on and as you go consulting, everyone expects wine and some cash. Imagine the demands for just small departmental elections, how then will the chap not steal departmental dues in order to recoup his money?

Nigerians should stop stealing from themselves. In Nigeria, for a governor to visit his home town, he needs at least 10m cash just so he can satisfy those who will troop to his house with their various issues.

The day we stop taking crumps from them is the day we will comfortably stand up to them and demand for good governance. As things stand, if you stand up to a senator today demanding that he does better, one of your folks will go behind you to praise the senator in exchange for peanuts.

Nigerians (masses) need to change if things must change.

An ordinary Senator past or present wouldn't write like this. Was wondering where he learnt how to write this beautiful, alas, I saw it, he was a former reporter/editor.

Good read!

The rate at which people beg these days is outlandish grin

It is becoming a way of life that's totally unrelated to the economy.

I no longer watch stand-up comedy because of the way the comedians have turned it to a begging and 'adulation-doling' fare.
