Omooba77: That's quite normal among Africans, especially Nigeria... they budget inflated figures for themselves to share, with the project left to the dogs. Look at the debt burden of the nation, even since Mr. Integrity took over... How much of the borrowing is reflected in development??!.. These old politicians are determined to plunder this nation to their graves, while their offsprings live off the loot in an Elysium beyond the shores of this wasteland. Sadly, our youths continue to cheer them on and even fight those who try to expose them. 4 Likes |

The reason for the inadequacy was not strictly on the FG but on the state. I think FG sense some sort of corruption at the first enrollment. On why the programme did not cover all the schools, Onah explained, “There were technical challenges from the headquarters coupled with the submission of irreconcilable data on the cooks who were recruited at the inception.” 2 Likes 1 Share |

that's the problem with Nigeria government, why start what you can't sustain or maintain. started a scheme to feed the pupils but can't maintain or sustain such schemes. we lack maintenance and sustainable cultures in this country. |

TGM2015: You get it. You can see some headteachers making excuses for possible discrepancies already. One said some students may not be available on the day of roll call by the NBS. It is evident most of the schools sidelined have issues with accountability. In any case, it is still a pass mark. Many pupils and by extension parents are benefiting from the scheme. 1 Like |

A lot of Nigerians lack the ability to differentiate the roles and responsibilities of the FG, state governments and local governments. As usual in Nigeria, when a primary school child in a rural village isn't fed, Abuja is to be blamed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

IS IT THE HIJAB THAT YOU PEOPLE HATE OR THE RELIGION? "Everyone want to be like Mary, the mother of Jesus (AS) but only few that emulate her mode of decent dressing especially covering head" -Na'im. The literal meaning of hijab is to veil, to cover or to screen. It encompasses more than just a dress code; it is concerned with moral boundaries and respect for woman. It is part of community cohesion and modest behaviour. Quran says that veiling or covering indicates the high status of believing women: “… (Oh Muhammad) Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed (molested or insulted)...” (Q 33:59) The early Christian women veiled their heads in places of worship and anytime they were in public and Christian women continued to maintain this practice to some degree throughout the centuries until the 19th and 20th centuries when the practice rapidly declined. We advise non Muslims to take their destiny in their own hands instead of allowing warlike leaders to lead them into unnecessary confrontation with Muslims every time. We invite them to eschew bitterness. We should be partners in lending the voice of reason to the national debate instead of constituting clerical nuisance to the Nigerian nation. We advise them to desist from giving religion a bad name. The word ‘religion’ is from the Latin word ‘religio’ meaning ‘to link’, ‘to tie’ or ‘to bind’. Therefore religion is about linking people together in love and sharing. It is not about dividing them. Religion is about love, forgiveness, tolerance, giving and taking. Let us be good examples for the young generation. Our constant bickering has led to too many religious crises. It has pushed our followers to the precipice of war and instigated them against one another. Why must we live together like two envious wives of the same husband when we should see ourselves as two sons of the same father? This is the etymological essence of religion. This is an example of Muslim women that were call to bar in Kenya but I wonder my country, Nigeria, the reverse is the case. Nasiruddeen Abdullahi Isa 16/12/17 1 Like |

Citizens should help the goverment by being demographically responsible. A runaway population growth without productivity in tandem is the door to unending social problems. 1 Like 1 Share |

obailala: What are you saying. Isn't it a Federal program again. Wasn't it their drive. They called the party but didn't count the cost. They received the accolades when the going was good. The truth is that a Socialist nation must be one of great discipline, immense sacrifice and positive intellect if not economic challenges and poverty will be a national experience. You cannot have socialism in a regime of high levels of corruption. That is subsidy at the bottom and the top of society simultaneously. You cannot have socialism in a regime of deep ignorance and illteracy where the population donot aporeciate the values of responsibility and prudence. You cannot have socialism work where the average citizen cannot make the basic sacrifices to see the system work, where parochial interests of typically tribe and religion are set aside for the greater good. In such regimes social programs are just waste conduits, can kickingz and mereky postponing the evil day as we see our debts baloon without recourse. There are serious problems ahead for the next generation that will dare to call themselves Nigerians. 1 Like |

obailala:And whose fault is that? When all powers are in abuja, does local govt have any say in the country. This is the very reason we are clamoring for true federalism and restructuring. The oil in my backyard is been controlled by the federal govt yet i should blame the local n start govt for failed school feeding program. Besides the school feeding program is a federal govt initiative. The power abuja is holding is too much, so expect us to blame abuja for failures in the country. |

This school feeding is thrash. Anything in Nigeria that is done for free is usually an avenue for someone to rob. Provide opportunities for Nigerians and they will feed thier kids and wont need you to feed them Sometimes I wonder at the level of buffonery in this country |

School feeding is a scam. Shame on 'Pastor' Osinbajo for selling this daylight-robbery and numerous others to vulnerable Nigerian families on behalf of Buhari's evil administration. |
Re: FG’s School Feeding: Crisis Cripples Scheme, Benefiting States Lament by obailala(m): 10:35pm On Dec 16, 2019 |
charliboy654: Reference:It is a federal government INITIATIVE, but state governments implement it. State governments are to do a census and provide an estimate of the total cost of feeding school kids in their state, the FG vets the figures and then provides 60% of the total cost, while the state brings 40%. This explains why there are still some state not participating in it, cos they dont want to bring their counterpart fund. Implementation of the actual programme is by state governments. So when there are silly hitches like we read of, the searchlight should really be on the operators (state government), not Abuja, except of course the Abuja fails to release the required funds. Whether we run a TRUE FEDERALISM or not, the fact remains that we still operate a federal system where state governments handle a good chunk of the resources and hold substantial responsibilities. Stop excusing state governments for their irresponsibility. 4 Likes 2 Shares |
