Is Tinubu still going to sponsor Ribadu with Utomi as VP?

I dey laugh.
pweh pweh pweh(like OBJ with small cough for throat) grin

Ribadu is an OBJ stooge.
So, disqualified by any mind with common sense.

Utomi?
Well, let him go and clear his name from the "Debtors" list of Nigerian bankruptees first, before he is allowed a free looting hand.

It will be a disgrace for Utomi to deputize for Ribadu. The reverse is more managable

Like the party is the problem or the people in the party?
If you like change parties left, right and center.
Same results. Nigerians are Nigerians irrespective of what parties they belong to.

@bashr4,

I ahve been calling for this for a very long time, and I am hoping it will happen. The combination will be very effective and progressive for Nigeria, and this is why.

1: Ribadu I believe has the zeal, determination and stomach to fight corruption head on, without fear or favour
2: Utomi has the vision and address book to attract the brightest and the best to come and move Nigeria foward. This is a very important point that is often over looked. But believe me, if Pat gets involved, you guys will not believe the calibre and quality of Nigerians that he will attract.

3: Ribadu, I consider raw in certain areas, and I know Pat can smooth out the rough edges

We need this combination, and I will continue to speak and campaign for it.

What pedigree do the duo have?

They look perfect on paper with Utomi as the main man, and Ribadu as deputy.

Utomi is very knowledgeable in economy and has that cutting edge in policy formulation.

Ribadu should provide the discipline needed to carry out the policies.

However, i'll like to see them serve in some kind of political office(legislators, governors, or some other office in the country) to
tested.

Classroom politics is completely different from politics in the real world.

P.S

Utomi should realize that he cant go anywhere without joining a well-structured party with some level of discipline. He might want to consider ACN or the Labour Party.

@Excanny,

I understand what you are saying about experience, but look at those with years of experience what they have done to our country. I think we must change our focus. I dont accept that experience has helped in Nigeria, and if that is the case they would be just as qualified as the others, if not better.

I will take the chance and vote them in.

Re: Ribadu/utomi Is This The Change We Have Been Waiting For by monkeyleg: 12:03pm On Nov 28, 2010
The difference between the american and the Nigerians is that the american would dream, then do something about the dream, but the Nigerians would dream, then wait for someelse to fulfil that dream for them.

Democracy and good government is not free or handed on a plate of gold, you have to earn it, by desiring it and working very hard for it.
Re: Ribadu/utomi Is This The Change We Have Been Waiting For by rhymz(m): 12:34pm On Nov 28, 2010
In present day Nigeria an Utomi/Ribadu Ticket is an imposible dream. Apart from the fact that they do not have any tangible precedence of heading any political office, they are very unporpular and are their parties lack the reach to help them win votes. I would rather a Buhari/Utomi ticket than a pair with Ribadu we all know that wont go anywhere. Tinubu needs to take a back seat in the ACN allow a better and stronger merger with CNC Buhari's Party. Buhari is more porpular and respected in the North than Atiku, Saraki, IBB and Gusau, he is seen as a disciplined politician that can actually effect the needed change Nigeria needs. And one thing he has going for him is his lonesome politics that makes an electorate see him as not being part of the northern elite that has run down this country. As far as I am concerned, attention should be both on quality, porpularity and reach of candidates. This is the best time that Nigerians can actually vote and make sure that their votes actually counts. Ribadu can instead refill his former position as the Chairman of EFCC, the woman there is a disgrace.

Yes, you are right. No risks, no gain.

But I still insist on this: Utomi should join the better structured and sensible party that can pull weight on a national level if he wants to be useful to the masses of Nigeria.

ACN is doing well, he might want to join or form alliance with them.

Exactly my point.
Why trade one stooge for another? undecided
If you've seen one, you have seen them all.

The main business at hand is to get rid of ANY OBJ stooge, not to substitute one for another.
Besides, Ribudu is no brighter than Jonathan.
Jeez. OBJ sure knows how to pick 'em dunces.

@Excanny,

I accept that Utomis current position would need to change for him to make in roads, and we are working on that.

In terms of precedence as some have suggest. Please point at one single leader with experience who has done well? Just one, soe I dont understand were all this talk is coming from, except from those not willing to seek change but remain politically lazy. I dont.

Unfortunately Soludo is not in ACN, i would loved to see

a Ribadu/Soludo combination

for a reason i keep feeling Utomi is too desperate, and as such dont support him.

Ribadu/Fashola wont be bad cheesy

@Monkeyleg, You speak so much of 'Political Laziness' that you make your naivety all too obvious. We all have dreams for our country and a pair as this no doubt will take the country places, but at what point do you begin to separate dreams from reality? It does not matter what you or I think nor believe because we r in the minority and do not have the resources or power to impose our candidate on the majority, you cannot have a political revolution overnight with the minority, so your theory of Political Laziness is completely out of touch in todays Nigeria.
No matter how you look at it, you need a solid platform to be victorious and at the moment, neither Ribadu nor Utomi has got one.
Re: Ribadu/utomi Is This The Change We Have Been Waiting For by tredkiller: 5:59pm On Nov 28, 2010
Why do people in Nigeria believe its only the old and corrupt politicians that can win electons? With this sort of belief, we can never get the change which we badly need. It is high time we had a paradigm shift and try something completely different. We cannot afford to keep having the same story repeatedly without any hope, afterall the proportion of young voters is greater than any other group.Its our time, its our generation. Enough is enough. Anything other than the corrupt, greedy, clueless old generation is welcome. There is no harm in trying something new for a change. You cannot make a change without taking some some risks. The Ribadu/Utomi ticket is a risk worth taking.

Re: Ribadu/utomi Is This The Change We Have Been Waiting For by igbobuigbo: 6:42pm On Nov 28, 2010
You guys are dreaming. Ribadu is not working with Utomi. Ribadu will be forced with a Yoruba VP because ACN is more or less a Yoruba party. So the idea of a Ribadu/Utomi or Utomi/Ribadu candidacy is far-fetched.

If the ACN is "more or less a Yoruba Party" why are they even looking at a Northern Presidential candidate? Why not produce a Yoruba Presidential candidate and Yoruba VP candidate ? That way , surely , the "Yoruba Party" wins on every front !!!! Not so ? In Nigeria where the Presidency is everything , while the VP position is mainly decorative, what sense does it make to you that a "Yoruba Party" is fielding a Northern Presidential candidate? Stop presenting the ACN as if it is myopic and driven by ethnic jingoism.

Of course the Party is , first and foremost , interested in the affairs of its region but , like any serious Party , it must have its eye on the Federal Appointments that has serious influence i.e the Presidency . The VP candidate that best support the ambition of ACN's Presidential bid is what the Party must look for . The ACN went for a Northern Presidential candidate , in the first place , because they believe it is an individual from that region that stands the best chance. The same sentiments should influence their search for a VP candidate. If an Igbo will be the best political fit and partner for a Northern Presidential candidate then I feel the ACN is now mature enough to go for that Igbo candidate.

Impossible. Due to the zoning agreement of the powers that be in Nigerian politics.
OBJ has given the Yoruba slot 10 years of failure. . . .and counting.
No Nigerian wants to even think in that direction.
President or VP slot, not possible.
It will not sell.
The Yorubas know it too.

There shouldn't be anything like yoruba or igbo political parties in nigeria,taking the country back to Awo-Zik era.

What we should have is the progressive in the likes of Utomi,Bakare,Soyinka and co up against the retrogressive in likes of obj,atiku,ibb,jonathan,aninih dem and co

@Wesley80,

This have very little to do with naivity, but so much to do with seeking change. Change is not easy, but a people would neeb to seek that change desperately, that they are prepared to go th extra mile to get it. at the moment what i can deduce from you is that we are not prepared to go that extra mile because the journet seems so long and hard. my brother go and find out how change was brought to progressive countries? it was went the people decided that it was time to get up and move, and if i dont see that in my people, i have not other choice but to term it political laziness.

So for my understanding, just because we risk getting Atiku as president, we shouldnt consider other options?

Ask the american people who donated $5 so Obama could be president. Above all odds that a black man who was brought to the us as a slave ended up being the president. The common man believed, paid his $5 and took his chance. And i am prepared to pay my #20,000.00 and take my chance, are you?
