PORNOGRAPHY:THE AGGRANDIZER OF THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY WOES

by

Kolawole Tolani David
Lagos State University, Ojo.

I wonder why the children cry for milk inasmuch as they've refused to desist from biting their mother's bosom. Scars are all over the source where the milk emanates from, seeming indelible. Who would rescue the pained mother, and the hungry children?

What good do you expect from a society whose Youths are bunch of obsceners? Tell us how well an economy predominated by young erotic enthusiasts will prosper. An average Nigerian will always decry the bad state of the economy. We never cease condemning the debilitating condition of various sectors and segments of the country; AGRICULTURE - Poor. DEFENCE - Impaired. INFRASTRUCTURE - bad. INNOVATION - Worst. EDUCATION -Dysfunctional.

Different verdicts have been expressed and recommended so far as panaceas to the pathetic condition of the nation. One prominent panacea is INNOVATION AND INVENTION. Most of us bemoan the lack of innovation in the country. We labelled it the cause of Nigerian economy woes. Who would birth the paving innovation and idea we sought after? MARLIANS? PEPPER DEMers (BBN)? WHO?

A sneak peek at the private life of most Nigerian Youths will reveal to you why we don't do well when it comes to critical and logical thinking. Check Phones, Books, PCs, TV shows, Magazines and lots more an average Nigerian Youth engages himself with, you won't be taken aback by why our brains are always clouded when it comes to conception and innovation of ideas.

An average Nigerian Youth find solace in masturbation, erotica, sexting, and raw sex and romance. Even the pious ones identify themselves with those culpable of these acts. The consumption of these lewd concoctions have not only corrupted their minds, but beclouded the thinking faculties from which amazing ideas can emanate from.

The adverse effect of pornography can never be underemphasized. It dampens the memory and pulverizes the good deposits God has placed in us.
Albeit most of our superstars and popstars are vulgarians. In fact, they find no wrong in publicizing their shame. Yet, we never resisted hailing, endorsing and idolizing them. We even enrich them unashamedly in their shameful acts.
To worsen the case, precious time and moments which could have been otherwise devoted to creating innovative solutions towards economic growth and development, is been lavished on some caged harlots who claimed to be housemates. We sacrifice time, sleep, resources, and even money to vote those unscrupulous elements. Little wonder, 95% of what our youths belch out on social media is crap. They like, post, comment and share licentious materials. Nonsense.

A wise man once said, " Pornography is a virus. "Its pernicious effect freezes the mental health and paves way for poverty. Out of the heart comes the abundance of wealth. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
"Stinking thinking precedes a stenchy living."

THE CURE

The only way out of this mess is to desist from this shameful act. Resistance is the key of deliverance we need. Let's come out of our foul addictions and obsessions.

One best gift we can offer in order to escape from this salacious trap is WILLPOWER. It is necessary to state that having control over oneself is very key. But, you can only sustain your continence by killing what triggers those lewd emotions.
Delete those videos, books, music, photographs on your devices.
Trash those voluptuous newspapers, magazine, letters that turns your carnal emotions up.
Use search engines like Google for productive research.
Always fancy what value, a programme you want to watch, hear or attend, will add to your personal advancement, way of life, and our nation, Nigeria.

Indecency is a result killer. It is never a means of relieving oneself sexually or releasing emotions.

Rescue yourself from the orgiastic claws of pornography.
Save the coming generations from experiencing this same ordeal.
Rescue the perishing Nigeria, it is drowning!

INNOVATION is calling! Who would SAVE THE DYING NATION?
Nigeria, awaits your amazing and transformative ideas.

Thanks for reading!

Pornography is the very least of our problems bro! Adult entertainment cannot and should not be blamed for the woes the Nigerian youth currently finds himself in. You can blame drug addiction, you can blame poverty, hell! You can even blame buhari and the host of other leaders that are bequeathing a rotten state to the youths to lead tomorrow, but never point porn as the reason why the youth seems to have been derailed from fulfilling their destiny in the this country

Very accurate stuff.
Porn never satisfies. The more you you engage, the harder it is to back out, just like many other addictions.

Let's start a new year with positive vibes only.

As much as I love the bottom line of this write up, which is a call for innovation from the Nigeria youth; I think the basis of pornography being the cause is outright nonsense!
The education system and the society at large barely reward academic excellence as much as they should. That is the problem, not pornography. Grass barely grow in deserts. Instead, they grow so much where they're allowed to (on fertile lands) that they become weeds.
The same Nigerian youth this write-up is blaming excel massively overseas because there's a reward for excellence there.

The government is the problem.

Think about it please.

Might be least as you said, but is still part of what constitutes to the ineffectiveness of the youths of this country.

Excessive Porn leads to acute masturbation which in turn leads to loss of focus or direction in academics, political PR economic endeavours.

Adverse effects of porn health wise can also not be overemphasised

You talk as though Nigeria is the only country in the world that practices all the supposed sexual immorality you listed. Common we aren't even among the top 10.

nice write-up but illogical argument by the OP.
I mean go to west and see for urself the level of obsenity there, and yet they're thriving.
while schooling there, a friend once took me to a place where people are kept in a show glass. U pay money and watch white people have live sex b4 ur eyes. lol...
It's super crazy in a white man's land oo.

Let's not even talk of LGBT rights over there.

over here in 9ja, the govt. just doesn't encourage innovation enough, that's why the con3 is not moving forward.

Instead of bashing what the OP put together, why don't you guys identify other problems and link it with what he has written? We are our own problem. He has contributed his own quota, it won't be a bad idea if other people identify more problems of Nigeria and offer help.
Re: Pornography:the Aggrandizer Of The Nigerian Economy Woes by d33types: 9:02am On Jan 02, 2020
Beautiful nonsense. Porn, even though is an undesirable and frowned upon vice, isn't the reason for any youths unproductivity. Nigeria isn't the biggest consumer of porn worldwide, other countries indulge and are doing better than us. At the same time, people masturbate and still reach their career peaks.

Porn and the likes aren't the factors responsible for the lack of basic social amenities, jobs and opportunities.

You see, your emphasis is on a very unnecessary vice. It's akin to promoting religiosity in a morally bankrupt nation as Nigeria.

This write up is like a receiving a well wrapped package only to open it and find poo inside.
The op has good writing skills i must confess but this post will easily make the dumbest post of 2020 so far. The biggest consumers of porn are also among the most advanced nations on earth. Our problem is not porn even though majority of our youth are vain and docile.
Re: Pornography:the Aggrandizer Of The Nigerian Economy Woes by y3mi(m): 11:26am On Jan 02, 2020
Earliest recorded history of pornography is traced to ancient Japan where men enters lust shop to view sex performers doing it live thru a box view. How is Japan today, how is this colonial structure called Nigeria today, how is California wherein major porn companies/studio are mostly housed compared to the whole of Nigeria?

What has the like of the OP done against those who display porn video in CDs/DVDs in the public along some busy street in Lagos where primary / secondary school students walk pass? I know an elderly man who has challenged some of those 10-in1 hollywood movies seller for doing that by first asking them after pretending to buy films, how much? Okay I'm buying 10, wait are you a Christian? He gleefully says yes! Then the ruckus start... You're a Christian and you sell these x-rated materials. I'm dead if said person catches any of us having anything to do with in those VHS era.

So...

I think the op/author of that conflicting write-ups is yet another self-righteous wordist who for all I care is an hypocrites by heart. Strongly reminds me of a bro I used to know who scream at the top of his voice when he sees guys taking a break to watch some good old Flower Tucci p0rn back in th days, s mike weeds like kilodé but always forming moralist when its porn, until the day I was told and shown how he secretly enjoys his at a sound-proof locked up corner in the house.

Speaking of screaming:

Here is a reply I dropped on Orisha of Sex YouTube channel:

"I believe the audible responds females make out during sex is best describe as 'moaning' and not 'screaming'. Humans only scream when in pain, and that doesn't occur during sex unless maybe it involves certain subset of BDSM. A preganant woman during labor may scream out due to the pain she's undergoing at the moment or during childbirth but what the heck do I know other than that the sex related 'moans' discussed here can be genuine, faked, erotic, discombobulating or glossolalia depending on how the phallus is creatively utilized."

Now if that sound like the mind of a youth whose mind is inclined towards sex and nothing else, deal with it then.

He's most likely one of those Abrahamic religionists raised on who can't shake off the thought of their failure of not seeing reality with a Sodom & Gomorrah macroscope.

In the 90s, US senates filled for the banishing, and eventually censuring of certain fictitious print media like them Doc. Strange, Spirit of Vengeance, Ghost Rider, Blade and Morbius comics for it occultic themes as well as the likes of Mortal Combat for its alleged influence on their kids arguing how it glorifies violence and hence contributing to the increase in crimes. Like WTF! Same America that manufactures firearms. It's like cigarette companies informing you that you're liable to die young on the same commercial ad that compels you to go for their brand incase you decide not to quit your smoking career.
