We reported earlier today about the demolition of political family home of former senate president, Bukola Saraki by the Kwara state government led by AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq

The building which is popularly referred to as ‘Ile Arúgbó’ in Ilorin, the state capital, was demolished under the supervision of security operatives who kept protesters including aged women away.



Recall that in December 2019, the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, had announced the decision of the state government to demolish the property on grounds that the land on which the property was erected, was illegally acquired by the Saraki family.

The demolition has of the house has now generated mixed feelings among Nigerians who saw the demolition as a political witch hunt by Kwara state government on Saraki and others supporting the decision of the state government.

Saraki is a modern Day Afonja. He was one of the powerbrokers behind the formation of APC. Without him, I dont believe APC would have had the momentum to become what they are today.
