The emergence of the political representative is a big issue in Nigeria where at almost every case the electorate are at the mercy of choosing " the devil or the deep blue sea".

The political party who are bereft of "ideology" since every Musa, Ade and Emeka can become a member, bringing forth representatives whose records are full of "nothingness or cluelessness" as regards the post they are vying to occupy.

Democracy simply put means "rule by the people". Democracy is a system of government where the people can exercise their governing power directly or through representation as we have in this day and age as a result of population growth.

Nigeria as a country have had (is having) its own fair share of democracy. Representative democracy as practiced by us assumes that the citizen possess and demonstrates some civic capabilities which involves; intelligence, self control and conscience.

The citizen must be able to understand the interest of the community, to subordinate his own will for the general will and must feel his responsibility to the community always ready to serve it by voting.

The question is, HOW CAN "WE" PREVENT THESE POLITICAL PARTIES FROM FORCING "US" TO VOTE THEIR "full of nothingness" CANDIDATES?
