Bazim restates commitment to cleaner Delta

The Executive Chairman of Delta State Waste Management Board, Honourable Chinye Bazim, has reaffirmed the board’s commitment at keeping Delta State clean.

Honourable Bazim stated this at the DBS Golden Ride television programme as well as a phone- in-program on voice of Delta Radio F.M both in Asaba, the State capital.

He said, the board in its desire at meeting the core mandate of its operation within the state, had instituted 5 pilot zones to take care of waste Management in the 3 senatorial districts..

According to him, the cleanup exercise carried out in the state capital will be replicated in other parts of the State.

The waste management board boss emphasized that the board had carried out operation show your receipt, mandating all residents with in the state to key into use of PSPs.

Chinye stated that the board also engaged in the removal of sand, grass and waste along Asaba-Onitsha Benin express way.

He noted that against this background the state government under the leadership of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa had distributed free waste bin to residents to ensure that they register with PSPs.

The verification of trucks used by PSPs to convey refuse to dump sites was checked by the board to ensure that it met specifications.
