But can't this N350m set up Industries where their parents can work and cater for their children but we are made to believe it's the food they share that attracts the kids to school. Africa and our mentality

The culture of sharing against producing is common among Northern Nigerian elites, they will rather people beg for money instead of investing in industries that will employ Nigerian

If i may ask, what kind of industries can #350m establish that will employ the parents of over 5000 students that'll empower them enough to give balanced nutrition to their children?

That a state spends this amount annually is commendable because the long run effect is that more people in the state are educated and reducing the number of people available for use by the likes of Boko Haram.

How many PUBLIC Schools offer boarding services or have boarding facilities generally, not to talk of Nasarawa? Public Schools that are struggling to survive with mediocre and substandard resources?
If Nasarawa has so much public boarding schools, it means their parents are majorly working civil servants at Abuja.

This report is incomplete. How much was spent on normal day student's feeding?

It's good feeding the kids though, but corruption must necessarily thrive in the process because "this is Nigeria"

Inside the broken schools in Nasarawa where pupils sit on floor to learn
June 15, 2019

Nasarawa, in North-Central Nigeria, has one of the highest rates of out-of-school children in Nigeria. Africa’s most populous country currently has 13.2 million out-of-school children, the highest rate anywhere on earth, according to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

The rate — about 47 per cent — means that one in every five children is out of school.

Most of these children are in Nigeria’s North East states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, where Boko Haram activities have disrupted academic activities for a decade now. Other states and regions are also seriously affected, and one of them is Nasarawa in the North central region.

Nasarawa, next door to the federal capital, Abuja, has a significant percentage of out-of-school children. And one factor that has not helped reverse this problem, analysts say, is the poor state of school facilities in the state.

An examination by PREMIUM TIMES of public schools in Nasarawa State has shown many schools are unsuitable for learning despite the huge amount of money the state says it has spent in the sector in recent years. Fifteen schools examined by this newspaper were in a poor state, posing risks to pupils and teachers.

All of you thinking it's PMB's innovation or whatever should read again. I happened to attend one of the public secondary schools in nasarawa and I will authoritatively tell you that the FG has no hand in that project. Those secondary schools have been feeding the boarders since inception even before Buhari would probably dreamt of being a democratically elected president. Please try to give credit to those who truly deserve it.
And for those who believe there are no good boarding schools in nasarawa state should just pay a visit (though some have very dilapidated facilities). But I can bet nasarawa schools are among the best public boarding schools in the country. And they highly subsidized and very affordable by almost anybody who can access some education.
