why is this govt so petty. A 'kindergarten' government with no shame. If kanu is the problem then they should go for the problem. But why not allow the dead to have peaceful burial and rest in peace. This tells a lot about the draconian mindset of our leaders.

So you expect federal government to fold their hands and allow some useless nuisance called IPOB to continue harassing and shielding innocent blood? I was a Corp member during the Army raid, back then IPob are looting shoes, shooting passersby, and harrasing of almost everyone and you guys expect government to clap for them? Nigeria Army must as a matter of urgency do the needful to safeguard the life and properties of every nigerian living around the location to guide against what ipob did back then, they almost kill some of my NYSC member if not for quick intervention of the Army. One thing av learnt and known about IBO is that most of them are tribalism and are not sincere in dealing with national security and I think they should learn from the past occurrence and act like other tribes/regions.

Of cause I expect an average IBO to attack my personality for exercising my fundamental right but that won't stop me from saying my views. Good morning
Graduate of which school, abeg? I wonder why IPOB no kill you.

Nnamdi Kanu is the problem of Nigeria...

Auno and Maiduguri roads are there for them to flex their power on Boko Haram but they'd rather go after a group that has not exhibited levels of violence comparable to their northern brothers.

Nwannem...this year go rugged oooo

Cursed County. Boko haram and herdsmen are butchering north now but soldiers are in peaceful East harassing unarmed innocent people. What a country!

People cant even pay last respects to their dead in peace. PMB and the people around him are very funny. How come they are this scared of one man?

You are very wrong, if Kanu is not scared of PMB why will he run away disgracefully putting Abaribe in trouble and why does he find it very difficult to come back to his Biafra land if truly he leads and rules the entire Igbo nation? Col. Ojukwu ran away too anyways, so what do you expect from Kanu... Only to start what they can't finish.

Kanu's family should bury their dead. But I support the FG saying it won't allow any proscribed organisation to attend as though they are still legal. If Kanu's followers wishes to attend the burial, then they must attend as normal citizens who wishes to pay last respect to departed elders/monarch. As long as they wish to display the flags/insignia of an outlawed organisation, then the military/police too can do as they want.

The security forces are free to do whatever they like with them and in the end, the respect everyone wishes to give to the departed monarch and his wife will be truncated. So it is advised that Kanu's followers should conduct themselves in a civilized manner as normal citizens for the burial to go as planned.

One thing that cannot be guaranteed is whether Kanu will walk free after the burial if he attends That is left for the FG to decide.

Point of correction, there is no atom of military presence in Afara. People should stop creating unnecessary tensions. I leave in Afara, not even a man O war officer is there. Please be properly guided

Seriously.... to face Boko haram.
This kind of act gives people more relevance than expected.

Take for instance, if tomorrow your compound is blocked or invaded by soldiers, many people who don't even know you will start being interested and you get attention. Same goes with some EFCC activities.

Let's imagine this funeral occurs without police or military presence, it will simply go as one of those burials.

I hope we are not preparing for another bloodshed in Afaraukwu. The burial of Kanu's parents does not constitute any security threat to Nigeria. It is not a good omen that a King and His Queen are being buried the same day. No man is happy to bury his parents the same time. This show of force is unnecessary. This King and His Queen must not be humiliated in death. If Kanu has issues with the government, his parents burial should not be used to settle scores. The dead deserve honour and a King and his Queen deserve royal treatment even in death.
