DON'T know if you're Yoruba or not, an average Nigerian politician would kill in a bid to remain in office, in a country where staying in office is seen as a do or die affair, I don't expect any politician to voluntarily step down unless there's an option tied to it. I have an uncle that greedily vied for two political posts and lost both. This is despite the fact that he would have won if only he had stuck to one. He was greedy, and everyone that would have voted for him turned against him for it.

At the same time, I have another uncle that supported his friend against his own brother and his own self for nothing but character. it was not his local government's turn, so he willingly gave the slot to his friend despite the fact that he could have taken it forcefully.

Just because you've not met decent politicians doesn't mean that there aren't decent ones. Trust me on that. I've met plenty.
