5000 litre capacity fire fighting truck built by Innoson delivered to the Kwara State Government

In line with his campaign promises, to safeguard lives and properties of Kwarans, the Kwara State administrator, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday, 3rd March has delivered a 5000-litre capacity fire fighting truck to the state fire service.

This is coming just a few months after the Governor purchased two ultra modern skytick fire service technology to the service to battle recurring incidence of fire outbreak in the state of harmony.

AbdulRazaq eulogised the organization for securing lives and properties following fire outbreaks which have rocked the state in recent times, stressing that the government would not cease to provide modern equipment and train its workforce for effective service delivery to the people.

The statement read in parts: “We will continue to invest in your training and your equipment, and this is part of the evidences that we have to invest in your human capacity and equip you to do the job,” the Governor said shortly before handing the key of the 5000-litre vehicle made by Innoson Nigeria

“I know you need more and we will continue to strive to give you more and to make sure that your activities extend to other senatorial districts in the state.”

In expressing his joy, Kwara State Fire Service Director Waheed Yakub heaped praises on. the Governor for the kind gesture, adding that such intervention is a sheer indication of his love for the people of the state.

“Your Excellency has done so much for us to bring us to where we are today. We can only thank you for your rare commitment to secure people’s lives and properties. We thank you for this new addition to what you have done for us,” Yakub said.

Recall in November, AbdulRazaq acquired over 27 vehicles for the Kwara State civil service, including two Hillux vans with modern fire fighting technology, to enhance their movement and service delivery to the people.

Kwara is in North and North central to be precise.

Geographically, genetically, emotionally, psychologically, and by all sense of reasoning we (Kwarans) are Southwest in all ramifications. The North central political association was nothing but Politics, which was orchestrated by Olushola Saraki Senior, just because he wanted to lead the political pack of North central as at that time. He and others, believed, if Kwara goes with the SW we will be playing the last fiddle as we were not really that educated and exposed compared to the rest of Southwest region as at that time (We are catching up now). However, based on our relative level of exposure and education, We were far better off than those in North central region and the North at large and hence we led the pack, hence the saying that it is better be a leader in less developed central region than playing the last fiddle in more educated and experience South West. Saraki said it is just a mere geographical expression and nothing more. Those were the words that were used to convince the 80% population of the Yoruba as at the time.

They were not attended to on time because the market was not accessible. The illegal structures built as off shoots from existing shops, the stalls, tables etc from street trading and finally the crowd.
