I don't agree with you. Going from the calibre , character and progressive mentality of those who Join the ACN Party , as opposed to the "do or die" brigand in the PDP, some elections will indeed look like selection when candidates emerge unopposed . You must realise that this may have less to to do with lack of democracy and  more to do with unanimous endorsement of certain candidates who have done well to the extent that challenging contestant do not exist.

It is not compulsory that keenly contested election must hold for every post. The members of the ACN may be in ideological sync to the extent that Akande is viewed as the best Chairman for the Party by everyone . If you provide a report of Akande's so called selection then perhaps we will have more info of what really transpired because , till now, ACN has led by example as per unity and internal democracy. ACN is showing that elections are not "do or die" affairs and I dont see how it is fair to compare them to the PDP.

Adeoti Emerges Osun ACN Chair Again
Members and officials of the Osun State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) have again demonstrated internal democracy within the party, [/b]as Alhaji Moshood Adeoti on Thursday emerged again as state chairman of the party.

Adeoti emerged alongside some of the executive members of the party who had run the affairs of the party in the last four years.

The congress was held freely and fairly, at Iwo City Stadium, Iwo, Osun State, [b]as party members agreed to the unanimous emergence of Adeoti as the party chairman and other executive members of the party.

Indeed. By all indices , he has done well. Contrast the situation with what obtains in the PDP where indolent looters and misrulers are returned as "automatic" candidates everywhere.

It is now confirmed . Akande was returned unanimously , unopposed and without rancour or dispute. A voice poll actually took place as well . I think the PDP cannot be compared with the ACN at all . Those who wish to vote for the PDP should simply do so rather than seek to justify their very poor choice by dismissing the ACN as " the same as PDP" when , in reality, all we are seeing show that the ACN is miles ahead of the PDP in democratic conduct, unity, ideology and quality of candidates for public office.

Anyone who wants Nigeria's progress will not contemplate voting PDP. For eleven years they have run Nigeria into the ground and they remain unrepentant because even when they had a chance at redemption , the best the Party could churn out are two "business as usual" politicians in the form of GEJ and Atiku. This is the clearest indicator that the PDP can never be progressive.

Very true Jarus, LAi mohammed and Joe igbokwe have been very vocal and always in the media engaging the PDP policies and actions. There is no other opposition in Nigeria as ANPP is virtually non existent in terms of engaging the PDP.

The problem i forsee with ACN is the actual benefactor himself in the person of the Bourdillon god father. Everyone has his time and and if he doesnt cut his excesses all the governors might fall out with him like what is happeneing with Fashola.

Coward?Did you watch the convention at all?Did you particularly watch Tinubu's invectives towards Poverty Development Party,especially Atiku and Goodluck?

I think not!No coward can launch such vitriols against a sitting President.

That said,when is their Presidential primaries coming up and it is laughable to see Ribadu grovelling in a party that has Tinubu as a top shotter.
