I like the fact that he (Sanusi) stood his ground and didn't give in supinely to the machinations of that dollar-guzzling thief. I've always said that the reasons Nigeria is backward are very clear, as against what an average Nigerian would have you believe; we are a morally depleted and highly hypocritical people.

The people of Kano (and their representatives in the House of Assembly) have chosen to side with a proven thief against an Emir whose primary offence was to oppose the second-coming of the thieving governor.

We all love Dubai of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Even at a time where Saudi Arabia is embracing sweeping reforms under the direction of Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. Sanusi is about the most foresighted and most modern of the emirs Kano (and indeed, the north) has had. He is as intelligent as the guys mentioned above, but here we are choosing to side with a thief over him. His people were not comfortable with the truth he constantly bombarded them with, they prefer to swim in their delusion—poverty-inducing delusion.

The north is not ready to turn a corner. Its travails have only just started.

P.S.: Sanusi was never given fair hearing. The whole accusations against him were not substantiated.

Sanusi said $20 million was missing under GEJ. Please can you show us evidence of that missing $20million?

That's one of the reasons Fayose's PDP lost Ekiti State to the APC, because Fayose too did a similar thing in dethroning a monarch in Ikere Ekiti. Even though PDP's governorship candidate came from Ikere Ekiti, his party resoundingly lost that particular strategic stronghold to the APC. The rest they say is history.
