What was the basis of the refusal?and what kind of visa did you apply for?If you think the refusal decision was not fair and your circumstances merit re-consideration.Then go ahead and appeal the decision.
If however you believe you stand a better chance now than the last time you were denied because of change in your circumstances from the last time i.e you just got a better job,you just got married,etc,then reapply.

   Though it seems you were refused the visa for three reasons, but in reality, you were refused for a single reason and that is; your obligations to return to home country have not been deemed sufficient: so, the three reasons are sub reasons under obligations.
   Now, if you think you have the documents or other tangible evidence to convince them that you will be returning to Nigeria before your visa expires, then, you may proceed with the appeal, but if there is no further evidence available for presentation, then, neither appeal nor re-application will do you any better.

From the information you provided above,you have indeed appealed the decision,so i will advice you to just wait for the outcome of your appeal.try to contact the embassy regarding the status of your appeal.Depending on the country in question,it can take some time before a decision is reached.

How long those an appeal takes to get responses,this is a month now and no reponses,I called and the person told me that it might longer time and also advice me to reaply, I just wonder y he askd me to guess they want another application fee, am just tied of franch embassy

Yes there is a chance for the decision to be overturned if you have strong evidences that the decision is not fair.A friend of my mine was denied visiting visa to Germany,we wrote an appeal and he was issued.

Here is what you should do;write an appeal letter addressing it to the right authority (details should be given to you by the swiss embassy), You should give reasons for your appeal and submit any evidence you have.
In addition, you should enclose a copy of the decision you are appealing against.
In summary, it is a letter detailing the reasons you think the decisions of the embassy isn’t fair and that you merit the visa. You will send this back to the embassy and the embassy will forward It to the Federal Administrative Court of Switzerland.

thanks for your concern, when they told me that my application was refused the officer told me that i can file an appeal either me or my host in swiss within 30days, my host just just file an appealed the decision of embassy. how long it takes? may i ask why your friend was denied? and how he appealed? sorry so many questions, thanks in advance though,

I am happy to see a forum where people believe in helping other and not discouraging. Vicjustice & Davedavy you guys are angels for ppl like me.

Now about my query. I am 26 years old, Single, Salaried professional from Bangalore, India. Last year in August I applied for a Short Stay Schengen visa for Netherlands to meet my friend. As I intend to stay at her place, I provided all necessary documents like Town Hall Invitation, Guarantee letter, her father's bank statements & Passport copies etc. Also from my side all docs like Employment letter, Salary Slips, IT papers, Travel Insurance, Confirmed tickets, Cover Letter, Bank Statements and everything. I attempted this on my own. Later on I was called for Personal interview and asked to bring an itinerary of the journey (I gave the one which I received from Airlines, please correct me if I was wrong) In interview I was asked about the relationship between me and my friend. and it went well.

Soon I got a rejection via mail stating the common reason: "Justification for the purpose and condition of the intended stay was not provided."
Here I assumed that this might be because of mention of that friend of mine. Embassy might have thought that I am trying to immigrate there. VFS Guys (@#@#) gave me the brilliant (!) idea of reapplying right away as it could work in my case. And I did so. This time provided them the hotel confirmation and waited for my luck. I got rejected again for the reason "your intention to leave the territory of the mem er state bfore the expiry of the visa could no be ascertained." I was devastated. I checked with a lawyer and upon confirming the accuracy of documents, I decided to appeal. Four weeks later I got a letter by them stating that their competent team had taken the right decision.

Apologies for the long write up. I want to know if I could get a tourist visa now. Should I try applying for other countries like Belgium? Purpose of my stay is to explore places and meet up with friends. I have a highly rewarding job and have been working for 4 years.

Friends, I'd be grateful if you could help me out here. Thank you in advance. I can mail the refusal letter from embassy and my documents scanned here for your reference. Once again. Thank you.

I am assuming that you are referring to my case here. In my case, her father was my sponsor in the first attempt. I had booked the tickets myself. I showed their sponsorship for the sake of accommodation. Thanks for the response. I wish to get through this mess asap. Please help.

Invitation Letter and Bank statements (of the sponsor) were submitted to the embassy by me as a part of application procedure.

as far as i know the sponsor must the one who will submitted the invitation letter directly to the embassy.

But VFS guys (to whom the Visa process is outsourced) said I need to get that from my sponsor and submit here which is exactly what I did. Anyways, I dare not to use my dutch friend as sponsor because embassy folks would unnecessarily doubt that I am trying to immigrate. This was in July last year. You think I stand a chance for 3rd time? May be trying at different country?

I also am selected for MBA at VU University, Amsterdam. Admission process is going on. It would require me to have a MVV visa in the beginning. Would my schengen rejection affect the application for MVV upon successful admission to their university?

I am a Nigerian by birth, a French by naturalisation.
My hubby is French, last yr we sent an invitation to my brother, we ve all necessery doc done and even took his health insurrance over here, after everything was done my brother was refuse.
We called the Embassy there in Nja, they told us that the decision to issue invitation letter is from a city called NANTE. They gave us their phone number, we called to know the reason. They said they cannot relate the reasons to us, it was very annoying. They sid we should reappeal, but it's just too stressful. I didn't do it.
AThey re very stingy with their visa, I ve got three friends with same problem as me refuser even when there enough fund to care for the invited. I hope ur appeal will be granted, good lucky.

france embassy in nigeria are fruadsters, cant blive i reapply with everything right,but was still refused.wrong embassy i tell u,if u call them,they will encourage u to reapply so that they can get anoda visa fee, nigeria government should check this guys,they are making money off nigerians.

You are only supposed to put your second Nationality (Nationality at birth) if it is different from your current Nationality.If you are not Ghanian by birth you should fill in whichever nationality you had at birth as appropriate,if however your Ghanian passport states Ghana as your place of birth,you don't need to fill it.

You don't need a lawyer.There is no standard form for a schengen visa appeal,it can take a form of a simple letter in which you simply explain why you think your visa application has been wrongfully denied.
Do note however,that it is necessary to explain in the appeal letter circumstances that support the case, circumstances that you know the rejecting embassy failed to consider as well as circumstances that had not been known to the rejecting embassy at the time of their rejection, if there is any.
The Schengen visa appeal letter must be signed by the applicant whose application has been rejected.
