Wike is an inconsiderate person. Those pilots haven't broken any law, the President made it clear that essential services providers are exempted from any form of lockdown. Is Wike telling us that his own government is bigger than Buhari's Federal government?

They broke the quarantine act by flying people into rivers incognito and now the Govt cannot verify the health status of those people and can't reach them because the pilots have refused to handover the flight manifest to the state government ... At this point he could charge them for providing conditions and material support favorable to bio Terrorism

He took them into custody because they refused to provide the flight manifest ..why are they hiding the identity of the occupants of the helicopter ..In this times Caverton manifest should even contain not just the names but also the addresses of it passengers for easy contact tracing ...

The National President of National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) comrade Galadima Abednego described the arrest and detention of NAAPE members by the Rivers State Government led by Governor Nyeson Wike as unwarranted attacked.

The NAAPE President urged Wike to immediately release the pilots and tender an apology failing which the association will direct all pilots both local and international to boycott flying into Rivers state now and post lock down.

He however, observed with dismay why Innocent Pilots, who are on the frontline complimenting government efforts, will suffer unnecessary humiliation and harassment for doing a service that is essential and vital to the survival of the nation’s economy.

Acceding to Galadima, “It is a fact that the flight was duly authorised by all agencies involved from the point of law but one wonders why power tussle between Federal and state will override national interest .”

“At this juncture NAAPE deems the actions of Rivers state government as an unwarranted attacked on our members is left with no other option than to demand and immediate release of the pilots and an apology from His Execellency the Executive Governor of Rivers state failing which we will direct all pilots both local and International to boycott flying into Rivers state now and post lock down.”

He commended the concerted efforts of the Federal Government in ensuring Nigerians are well protected from the ravaging hands of Coronavirus.
