I feel it's still goes back to inferiority complex and this desire to be relevant by acting western. I'm quite sure my fellow nairalanders would consider an individual who speaks with an American accent, dressed on suits and Italian shoes while sipping on his imported cigarettes; and happens to be a bisexual as a more civilised person than an aboki man dress in my traditional kaftan, leather sandals, and my Zanna cap; speak Hausa to people that understand the language and choose to eat koko and kosai, or tuwo miyankuka, avoid cigarettes and champagne; married to my four wives without having an affair and still manage to live a decent life 1 Like |

Na movie o. They cue the sad music and then you see two men embracing one another, one saying to the other "the world doesn't want to be together but our love is stronger". The worst part is Africa has much bigger problems but that's what we choose to concern ourselves with at this moment. For example, I was reading one African publication like that and they were like, they favor queer writing. I'm like, there are quite a number of problems in Nigeria, the almajiri system, caste system in some igbo states, ritual killings, Yahoo, prejudice against albinos and many more. But no, I want to sleep with someone of my own gender is what they choose to discuss. And they are the same people who talk about white privilege and how their problems are "privilege-oriented". But in a country where many have notging to eat, isn't sexuality a privilege? 1 Like |
