To have done otherwise will dent his image and integrity. I still maintained sir, he did not do Abiola any favour by being upright it is expected of a man of integrity which an electoral body chair should be. It is just like saying we should praise a football referee for not indulging in match fixing why will he do otherwise in the first instance?
It’s quite a pity some of you Yoruba’s are pushing this false narratives against the Igbos when you’re far worst and tribalistic.
First, you blame Daniel Kanu for his ABN support for Abacha and now you’re blaming Humphrey Nwosu a man who risked his life to announce Abiola winner despite threats from IBB. It’s quite a shame. But yet you have continued to absolve fellow Yoruba’s who supported that Annulment.

You are hitting hard on the Igbos who didn’t influence that annulment nor did were they party to Abacha’s regime, leaving the following Yoruba’s who were directly active in the whole fiasco.

1. Ernest Shonekan — Interim Head of Government appointed by IBB to rule the country after the annulment.

2. General Oladipo Diya — Vice to Abacha who took part in the arrest and killing of NADECO chieftains.

3. General Adisa — Chief of Army staff under Abacha

4. Ebenezar Babatope — who served as minister under Abacha and a host of other Yoruba’s who stood with Abacha.

When Onyema was accused of corruption,
no Yoruba man came to show solidarity to their fellow countryman.
They were busy telling him to go to US and face his trial.
They even accused him of being guilty when he has not been tried.
The Western media keep taunting him even on NL.

See the kind of solidarity coming from SE / SS for Adesina.
You see why we speak the way we speak

Onyeama should go to US to face his trial.

Please stop spreading this sort of lies and unverified claims, it damages the moral fibre of our country.
Assuming but without conceeding that it is true, you should not be repeating it publicly but discouraging it passively.
Yorubas did not lead any campaign against N O I, the White people (Europeans and Americans conspired against her because she is Black!)

All these stoking of one ethnic tribe against the other in Southern Nigeria needs to END, it is the biggest obstacle against our development and the biggest weapon of our oppressors. THINK! THINK!! THINK!!!

Lots of misinformation here bro. The whole world knows it was a Yoruba president that discovered and appointed Okonjo Iweala, Frank Nweke, Ezekweseli, Dora Akunyili, Soludo and supported at least one Senate president from the SE. We can do better than this. There is no evidence to suggest that a president from SE can reciprocate what OBJ did.

Even Shonekan himself announced MKO as his Vice and other Yoruba’s into his cabinet. But MKO didn’t accept it and went behind to collabo with his friend Abacha to remove Shonekan, going as far as nominating ministers for Abacha, against the advice of his loyalists.

Below is Shonekan’s minister. Note the Igbos there were only three, Chukwmerije, Nnaji and another chap.

What else remains of the false Yoruba narratives against the Igbos on Abiola’s fall.

Below is the list of Shonekan’s appointee, however a few declined his appointment.

Ngozi okonjo contested for world bank presidency, Yoruba's led the campaign against her candidacy... But we have showed unalloyed support to Adesina... I hope we all are learning one or two lessons
Yoruba led the campaign against her candidacy... But a Yoruba president gave her the opportunity to serve the country. When Nnamdi Kanu was arrested, two prominent Yoruba men stood surety for him... I think the Igbo are the real problem of the south. Always preaching hate & division. As far as the Igbo is concerned, everything must be "tribalised" even the minority in the south are not comfortable around the Igbo. It's a shame.

Good Obasanjo did those things you mentioned. Same way he gave the likes of El Rufai, Sanusi, Nuhu Ribadu and Atiku Abubakar their shots.
The North, MB and SS (just as the SE) benefited from Obasanjo’s regime because they all voted for him and the President was bound to compensate them all.

Did the NE beg for the VP slot, Deputy Speaker and Immigration boss slot No?

Did the NW beg for the Speaker, Chief of Defence staff, Chief Judge of the federation, Customs, as well as other ministerial position? No!

Did the MB beg for the Deputy Senate President slot, Army chief and other ministerial position? No!

Did the SS begged for the SGF, Chief of staff, Chief of Naval staff, Minister of Petroleum? No. Because they all deserved it.

The SW even got the IG of Police, AGF/Minister of Justice, and other top ministerial position. So why will the SE own be different? Did the SW vote for Obasanjo?

The SE despite their votes for Obasanjo compared to other zones got only the Senate President, CBN and a few ministerial position. And yet you’re asking the Igbos to be grateful, for the likes of Okonjo-Iweala, on what aspect exactly — Didn’t they vote for Obasanjo?

He had no power before the Military, just an order and he will chicken out. Moreover, did he announce the result?

Jesus Christ is this how terrible yorubas can be? Little wonder every other tribe sees you as being tracherous and back stabbers.

Humphrey Nwosu announced that result against military orders because of that they arrested him and detained him for a very long time. He is still suffering from the trauma of that they experience.

Why was Abiola saying he is the president if he was not declared winner by Humphrey Nwosu?

Common sense is indeed not common.

I know if he had been a yoruba man, he would have chickened out, but he did not chicken out because he is an Igboman and he is not a coward like a yoruba man.

Go and ask your elders, because obviously you were not born when this happen, let your elders give you history.

These ridiculous stories by the Ibos is becoming disgusting! Stop reading PM news and be informed. During the June 12 election, the Ibos did not vote for Abiola, Arthur nzeribe led the Association of Bastard Nigerians who called for the annulment. If I ask you to justify your claims now, you will start your usually cock and Bull stories. Haba! [/quote if abiola defeat tofa in Anambra let what ever you lay your hands upon be a curse

I appreciate Peter Obi for words of support, but the issue at stake is not that of African support as regional investors because Adesina stands unopposed as candidate for the second term, but America wants only one term for him.

They have a preconceived outcome of a probe. The US kept quiet while ethics committee probe was going on, only to react when the outcome is against their preconceived judgement.

It is not a do or die affair, the US can sponsor a candidate for the next election.

if it were an Igbo that committed the atrocities committed by this thief called Adesina all the Yoruba media outlets would have been creating captions like " ANOTHER CRIMINAL IGBO IN AFDB, IGBOS ARE ALL THIEVES, ETC.

IGBOS ARE INDEED THE ONLY BRIDGE THAT HOLDS NIGERIA TOGETHER.

So dont make it look like the lady was a nobody before she was hired at AfDB...

I just pity the Ibos. There can never be unity between Yorubas and IBOs as I have seen the truth revealed by a friend from the North. When somebody is being accused of favouritism to his nation in an International Organization, what concerns member States with her profile in her country. Each member State has slots.

The IBO way of reasoning and propaganda make things more complicated. That was how Adekunle Fajuyi lost his life for an ungrateful people.
