A little thought came up my mind. If you Get Muhammadu Buhari and the 36 state governors to sit in one room and give them blank sheets to write down why they initiated lockdowns in their states and what they achieved with it , you will be shocked that after 3 hours , Buhari will return a blank sheet to you.

The only thing Buhari has succeeded in doing well in 5 years is Photo-op sessions and junketing around the world.

COMMUNITY POLICING TAKES OFF IN LAGOS, AS GOVERNOR @jidesanwoolu INAUGURATES OPERATIONS TEAMS

… Gov: ‘Initiative’ll Address Shortcomings Of Existing Policing Model’

… New Approach To Shift Focus To Proactive Law Enforcement, Says IGP

Lagos State has taken an audacious step towards improving security in all communities across the State, with the inauguration of State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC) and its operations arm, State Community Policing Committee (SCPC).

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, inaugurated members of the two committees at a ceremony held at the State House in Alausa, pointing out that the event marked a turning point in the Government’s deliberate effort to re-strategise and rethink the security architecture using Community Policing Initiative as proposed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Muhammed Abubakar Adamu.
@ElkanaBala @PoliceNG

The security initiative, the Governor said, is long overdue, adding that the reform is being implemented with the objective to address inadequacies of the current policing model, which, he said, had failed to engage members of local communities and neighbourhoods in knowledge sharing and intelligence gathering that could help in nipping crimes in the bud.

SCPAC, which is co-chaired by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, and chairman of Council of Obas and Chiefs in Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, will be the custodian of the initiative and it is to maintain highest level of oversight on community policing in the State.

SCPAC, on the other hand, will be responsible for managing and coordinating the State-level operations of the community policing programme, and it will, among other functions, help identify security threats in communities and work with the police and the Community Police Officers (CPOs) in evolving appropriate strategies for addressing them.

Community policing is the best strategy for Nigeria.
It would curb crime seriously, that's if they stop taking bribe ooo
The police men would know the names of the people in their community, or their families at least.
He/She would know those with a potential to commit crime.

Crime should be prevented . We shouldn't wait till it happens before we do something about it.

Nonsense!

Everything in this country is politics, nepotism and corruption.

Governors initially agreed they would use npower beneficiaries and corpers, after meeting with the service chiefs, at a NEC meeting last year. Politics came into play and they turned it all upside-down.

72 years old Mama in my area says she was chosen to be a community police!

And what is wrong by appointing a 72 years old Mama as Community police? They are more of Police informants. They called the women behind the curtains abroad because they stay indoor mostly and report strange faces found in the community to law immediately. Do your research properly before criticising any policy from the government. It is a great day brother.

A move to bypass Amotekun, we will not take it grin
hahahaha see you, Amotekun is Amotekun. The plan of the Fulani federation government is even to down grade Amotekun to this community policing but we are smart to say No. If you dont know, Amotekun is more of a regional security outfit. In fact even if all Yoruba states have community policing, Amotekun will still stand. Do you think DAWN commission and Yoruba council of elders just woke up on morning and decided to just name it Amotekun It has a strong meaning my man. Amotekun has no much business in communities, towns and cities but they have more interest in Villages, Bushes and our forests.
Whenever we Yorubas initiates a security idea, the Federal government always find a way to highjack it, NSCDC, Road safety are Yoruba initiative. When we launched Amotekun, they started making moves on community policing, a way to highjack Amotekun but we checkmate them
We are happy on this community policing and our Amotekun dey gidigba

And if not that our government are so dull and dump, why will they even suggest using npower / nysc in the first place when they have enjoyed little stipend while there are still other Nigerians outside who are unlucky to be taken via npower.

Lagos should just strive to have state police created rather than work with the pro herdsmen NPF.
The day the herdsmen will strike NPF will disappoint you unless Amotekun will rise to save your souls.

Everybody wants a better life and job security. There's nothing wrong in giving npower beneficiaries and corpers a job they already considered them for. It still doesn't mean they won't employ fresh beneficiaries. Infact, they will and they are into it. People will hear it soon.

You don't need to be against people seeking for better future!
