When my care taker just collected 255,000K with my bros to add 45K to pay my so called landed for a shop I'm not allowed to open for business because of lockdown.

Firms exist to make money. Period. They will employ you if you help them in their goal of making money. Anything else...zero.

Maybe a firm would do something like build a road or a hospital or a school..but that is so that it can ultimately make the locals happy, while providing good publicity for themselves, and training future workers who would...help them make money.

A firm does not owe you good power supply, good water supply, even free money. That is the job of the government. It is also the job of most citizens to vote for good people to mange the government., and to constantly put pressure on governments to run well.(which most Nairalanders don't do because it is far easier to build castles in the sky online )

And government too is supposed to provide the means by which firms can make more money and grow.

The problem with Nigeria is that the revenue earners don't necessarily need a good road, water or power supply to earn money for the country. Also, we don't rely on industry to earn us money. If we did, there would be light and water 24//7 because that is what improves the money earning capacity of the country. And there would be jobs...but even then the jobs are so that you can make money for...the company.

To sum up, No one owes you nothing. Even in developed countries, the reason why they function well is because poor power supply would affect their economies greatly....not because they necessarily care better about their people.
