In 2001,Obasanjo/Atiku's PDP FG ordered soldiers to descend on Zaki-Biam with armoured tanks that were given air coverage by helicopter/gunboats.
The PDP unleashed terror on unarmed civilians, a type that has not been heard of or seen in Nigerian history.
At the end of the carnage and bloodbath, no fewer than 300 persons including women, children, young and old were massacred with many of the women violated in that gory expedition.
Many properties were also destroyed at the end of it all including those of a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt_Gen. Victor Malu
It was a carnage of unimaginable magnitude, aside losing loved ones, schools, hospitals and social infrastructures were all destroyed and they were left to live with the ruins, it is as bad as that.
The scars of the PDP's military misadventure was such that all their personal property were destroyed in one fell swoop,the psyche of the people was badly battered by the invasion
The most painful aspect is that despite the monumental loss the people were left to live with, successive PDP governments continued to treat the people with disdain in spite of the psychological trauma, as a result of that massacre.
It's a welcome development now that President Muhammadu Buhari is giving them a new lease of life.
