They told us to stay at home but they refuse to stay at home. They advised us to do social distancing but yet they don't do so. |

Wiseandtrue: It's the same virus killing 5 times more in other parts of the world... If Nigerians didn't have better immunity, don't you think the mortality here would have been catastrophic??!... Regardless of the number of deaths recorded so far (most quite concocted), Nigeria has been largely spared!!!... This is no longer up for argument!!! This is the REALITY!!! |

Angelfrost: I totally agree with this summation. Something in our constitution is mitigating the effect of the virus. It is my belief too that many more people have caught and quietly recovered from the virus without much adverse reaction. |

[quote author=light099 post=90909812]He's likely going to overcome it and get well just like many others, at the same time, that's not enough reason to take the deadly virus for a joke. CoronaVirus works in mysterious ways and it's activeness is jointly dependent on location and individual's body system. Presently, it seems the version of the virus operating in Africa is the Chinese version and perhaps the Italian version. Luckily for Africa, our climate isn't giving the virus a space to thrive because of the hot weather and the Vitamin D we freely have access to everyday. Since the climate of African's location has devoured the virus to a good extent, it's just left for the body system of each African to fight the remaining battle. That is why CoronaVirus is national in some countries but it's personal in Africa, it's you and your immune system against the virus. However, I feel while the virus seems to be inactive on this side of the planet, it's not because it isn't spreading fast, rather, it's just because many Africans are asymptomatic to the foreign version of the virus. The scary part is, one can only hope the Virus is not quietly adapting and mutating to produce the African version of itself. That is why we can't afford to be careless or throw caution to the winds, so that Melinda Gate's prophesy wouldn't eventually come to pass. Many people take this shiit for a joke, unfortunately the battle is not yet won. No one knows what's brewing-up underground. In a smart world where gadgets are getting smarter, I won't be too surprised if the viruses are also getting smarter.[/quote We really hope that the nigerian version of the virus won't mutate to a very deadly one that will be killing thausands of nigerians. |
