In response to the increasing rate of insecurity in the nation, the Nigerian Army
In a statement announced this monday by Col. Sagir Musa will be redeploying some of its high ranking generals and senior officers. While this may be a step in the right direction, it is not enough. There have been a huge clamour by stake holders for the Service chiefs to vacate their posts as they have served way beyond their service years as stated in the constitution. There is a huge backlog of officers and soldiers alike who are due for promotion but can't be promoted as a result of this. This is bad for moral and will add to the long list of problems plaguing the military. This government came into power largely on the promise of establishing peace and security, that promise has not been fulfilled, instead there has been a steady increase of it. Our boys have fought a long and hard war against a better equiped and motivated adversary under very harsh conditions. They have gone nights awake, that we may sleep with all eyes closed, and died that we all may live. They deserve all the best that they can get. As 2023 draws closer it will be shameful for the administration to leave the nation worst off as it met it. Can this be remedied, we cant tell but as they say; "it is better late than never". Meaningful action must be taken now.

This can lead to coup. It is a dangerous game to play. If Abacha was alive and these people are still in service, democracy would have been over by now. You can't be taking orders from someone that is officially out of service.
