They rape, maim and openly kill people and they are never caught.

They recruit and if their victims don't join them, they are haram and are sent to their early graves.

Their mantra was join us and fight for our cause or be killed. Their ideology was that everything from the West was sinful yet they use sophisticated weapons from the same West.

They send villages to Internal Displaced Camps while they go about killing people who aid the IDPs.

Girls who were kidnapped have long been forgotten about.

Their victims who manage to escape for their lives and congregate in Internal Displaced Camps to be taken care of until respite come their way are sought after by them to finish off what they started.

They are empowered by whosoever with sophisticated weapons, money and zest while their victims are powerless.

A commanding soldier who commands a camp and was ambushed spoke against his employers for not empowering them to fight off the terrorists and he is removed and arraigned to be court martialed.

The muther****** - after seeing that the way to Heaven is long and that they might never see their supposed virgins if they aren't killed - are suddenly tired of their acts, come out of the bushes and forests and surrender their guns while their victims are either dead or impoverished

They are de-radicalized, told thank you for coming out, clapped for, have their pictures taken, granted amnesty, given new clothes, given face masks, given nice food and treated nicely while their victims are without clothes and still looking for their next meal in various refugee camps scattered across the North and neighbouring countries.

They are paid monthly while little or no care is given to their victims.

They want to be sent to the shores of western countries for the same education they once abhorred while their victims are scarred for life.

They come back and could be introduced to mainstream politics to rule over their victims while their victims die for nothing.

You dare not call them convicts because they were never caught, tried and punished.

Their victims see those who had persecuted them, those who had terror written all over their faces been treated fairly and nice to the extent of being given an education they once abhorred, and curse themselves for not joining them to commit such abominable acts.

These terrorists become heroes to some of their victims and the young ones could tow that path and say after all, they were forgiven. A bad example is set and it becomes a cycle.

After seeing all these, their victims ask themselves, wasn't it worth it that they joined the group when after all, their slayers are now enjoying the perks of amnesty.

And then I ask myself, where is this country where all these things are happening? I say it is Nigeria.

And then I ask, Is Boko really Haram?

Ed Ogom is just a concerned citizen
