Honestly apologies shouldn't cut it anymore!!!
It's time these fvkers started getting screwed for such actions. It's one too many nd something should be done else some day the media will set this contry on fire with misinformations.
This is the kind of reasons for which most people support media regulation... Tho punishment for insulting elected leaders on radio is a step in the wrong direction!!

Question is did Osinbajo put himself there? Remember politics is strictly pari paso, osinbajo sadly takes orders from burdillion and does whatever is asked of him without hesitation.

Don't be rediculous. Our so called mainstream media outfits are as bad as the fake news blogers.

Zero investigative journalism, unprofessional.

This is not the first time a news media would be apologizing. The accusation didn't hold water ; the funds were transferred from office of the accountant general if the federation to consolidated revenue fund. But since they want to generate traffic, they had to cluelesslly mention the VP Osinbajo. Alleging him. What a show of shame.

Very true.

Prof, should atleast teach this guys some bitter lessons to deter other unscrupulous entity from peddling such ever again.

Nigerians don't know what they have in prof if not they will cherish him. Just unfortunate hes not the one leading. I see him as Mike Pence, whose loyalty to the boss is unquestionable despite all d so many wrongs.

State Assbly members, Governors, Deputy Governings, Senators, House of Reps members, President and Vice President are all very rich based on the official and legal salaries, wages and allowances that they are entitled to.

They do not need to steal government money to be comfortable because the Constitution and the National Wages Commission has given them enough money for them to live a very comfortable.

Therefore, the Vice President if the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Professor (Pastor) Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) will not dip his hands into government treasury to steal.

It is however unfortunate that several politicians whom the Constitution has given enough money to be comfortable still loot of treasury. For this class of looters, Ogun, Sango, Osun, Obatala, Aiyelala and Esu Odara will destroy their families up yo the 7th generation.

Unfortunately, in reality he can't take people to court because to do so he would have to lift the immunity attached to his person which is highly unlikely. He certainly could sue after leaving office or he could make a report to the Press Council or anybody responsible for licensing newspapers. This could lead to stoppage of operations. If the newspaper then filed a court suit he could use the defendant as proxy.

Regarding Pence, the most a VP can do is to be quiet when he disagrees with his principal. Resignation would hurt such a person

Don't fool yourself, they apologized because they know government will slam them with 5 million naira fine, not because it was fake news, fg is busy killing anything like public opinion, and you are here celebrating mediocrity.

I see osinbajo as too gentlemanly. He needs to show some balls too so that all these baseless attacks won't be directed at him. You can't just tell any silly lie against the vice president without verification properly.
He has balls and he can take decisions. You saw what he was capable of doing while the president was away then. The only thing limiting his potential now is because he's the V.P. He weilds little influence because he has a boss he reports to.

Imagine this undeserved mud-slinging for which many heartless beings have condemned Osinbajo.

Why is it that the conventional media are ko better than the hear-say social media?
