PRESIDENT General of Ohanaeze
Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Nnia Nwodo
has vowed that Ndigbo will unearth
the circumstances surrounding the
massacre of Igbo youths by security
agencies at Emene-Enugu, last
Sunday.
Nwodo who spoke for the first time
after the bloodbath said that
Ohanaeze kept studied silence all the
while to gather adequate information
before making any speech.

He however said that after meeting
with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on
Wednesday, he decided to break the
silence, more so, when different fake
news were attributed to him on social
media platforms.
Nwodo’s media aide, Emeka Attama
in a statement he issued on behalf of
his principal, late Wednesday,
disclosed that Ohanaeze had been
briefed of efforts by the Enugu State
government to unravel the cause,
extent of fatalities and those
responsible for the killings in a State
Security Council meeting scheduled
for
Thursday, August 27.
The statement reads in part: “In the
last two days, news had broken out
about clashes between IPOB and the
Nigerian Security agencies in Emene,
Enugu State. Since the outbreak of
this development, Ohanaeze has
been involved in getting to the root
cause of this development.

“Whilst these investigations were
going on, fake Twitter accounts and
fake Facebook accounts and press
releases bearing the name of the
President General of Ohanaeze
Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief John Nnia
Nwodo, have inundated the social
and mass media. It has become
necessary to make it abundantly
clear that Chief Nwodo, until now,
has not commented on this
development.
“This evening (Wednesday) after an
exhaustive meeting with the Enugu
State Governor, who by law is the
Chief Security Officer of the State,
Ohanaeze was briefed of efforts by
the State government to unravel the
cause, extent of fatalities and those
responsible for them in a State
Security Council meeting scheduled
for tomorrow, Thursday, 27th August,
to hear and evaluate the accounts of
all concerned in this sad
development.
“Ohanaeze is saddened by the grave
fatalities occasioned by this
development and is determined to get
to the root cause of this unfortunate
event. We mourn the sad loss of all
our children and other Nigerians
whose lives were wasted by this sad
development. We await the outcome
of the Enugu State Security Council
inquisition and advise all and sundry
to discountenance all false releases
attributed to the President General.
Our final statement on this subject
will be made in due course.”

It's Friday already and he is still studying the situation, they should continue with their silence, their reward would come at the appropriate time whether in this life or next. Won't he and Ekweremmadu travel to Germany this year for the New yam festival?

Ohanaeze should get to the root of its own inefficiency.


Or rather channel their energy towards regulating the price of Okpa in Enugu.

They should hurry up, news from the ground says things are happening underground.

This killing of innocent Igbos will not be left like the others.

What other root is Ohanaeze looking for? The security forces left all the herdsmen and armed bandits killing people in Enugu and went to a school where unarmed people were peacefully exercising to shoot them.

Which root are you looking for again?

The fact that Herdsmen, Boko Haram and Bandits have been killing people and nothing has been done about it should not push the Nigerian government to go about killing harmless Igbos.


From when Buhari took over government and disclosed his displeasure on anything related to revolution. He should understand that, this is a democratic government and a group of people or an entire race or ethnicity have rights to seek for a referendum and can always be settled with a dialogue rather than killing them or proscribing them, to shut them up
If this killing continues, there might just be another civil war...


And the government should know that, if Boko Haram can withstand the Nigerian army of today.....Nothing will stop the Ipob from winning any war that the government is trying to invite indirectly....
