God created man a free moral agent that has a moral right to do whatever he chose to do and he doesn't infringe on that right. The only thing we don't have power to control are the consequences of our actions. You get God's intervention in life threatening issues through prayers.

Besides, there are principles contained in the Bible you must live by to guarantee God's protection. If you violate them, you will get into trouble.
