Thieves.......That's why they do everything to frustrate people from prepaid meters......I'm still thinking of the right channel to pour out my anger.......because this mofo's just gave us #45000 Nepa bill.......and they care not.
Report them to NERC or take them to court to explain what instrument they used in measuring your electricity consumption to arrive at that figure, and the instrument should be tenable in court and verified by independent investigators.

Well, they would make the discos more broke then

The truth is, you cannot understand Nigeria's electricity problem without first knowing that the cost of power in Nigeria is less than the production cost.

Even with this recent price increase, a lot of people are still exempted from the thing, then there are the power thieves and those who don't pay

Once you get that, and you also get that gencos have to pay for gas in dollars, not naira, and they have to source for dollars from the open market because the parsimonious CBN won't give then dollars, then you would see why NERC s idea is stark bonkers

Either we run electricity as a proper market, where discos and gencos control the price, and end this NBET illusion, or we are never going to have light 24/7

And Nigerians have to pay their power bills. The problems we have with power are compounded by the large number of people who don't pay up

You can easily fight this by metering everyone so that people actually pay for what they use as opposed to arbitrary bills that puts the burden of payment on the few who actually pay up.

Clueless. Have you address reason for rejection before punishment for rejection? Always putting cart before the horse.
No. It's not punitive. It's a loss someone has to bear.
GENCOS are running fuel and equipment. To shut down and restart those equipment costs a lot and whoever caused it due to his innefficiency must pay for it.

And then there is the phenomenon of bypassing the meter

(It happens)
which is a criminal offense and anyone caught must be made to face the law!
Re: NERC: Discos To Pay For Rejecting Electricity by alphaNomega: 3:55pm On Sep 11, 2020

And the discos were.distributing darkness because until last week, they were selling power at 30 naira per kWh and less, while it cost 53 naira per kWh to produce said power.

All the discos have been running at a loss since inception because we don't want to run them as private companies.

Also, in many areas, between 40-50 percent of subscribers to the discos don't pay their bills. Nationally it is 60 percent

I know Nigerians complain about darkness. But the thing is, the discos and gencos inherited a wrecked sector. And it is going to take a lot of money to fix things.

But we Nigerians want them to build our power sector for us free of charge.

Remember GSM. It used to be very expensive. Because the GSM companies had to build our whole infrastructure from scratch. Nitel was to messed up to produce backbone for basic GSM calls .

The problem I have with Nigerians and electrical power is , we refuse to acknowledge that it is expensive, and it has to be paid from our pockets.

We all paid for GSM . See where we are now

What do you mean by "we all paid for GSM"? Was it supposed to be free?

Of course, why are they always complaining that they are sharing what is apportioned to them from transmission?
This guys are criminals jare....I do not know why their license have not been revoked.

As for AEDC na God go punish them.
AEDC seems to be the worst of them all. 4 hours of light for the whole day, yet bills keep rolling in.

so u think say you made sense. Why should they reject power allocated to them. Its their responsibility to put their facilities in order. They have to invest in the business by providing the needed equipment for easy distribution of electricity to where it is needed . why did you not complain about Transmission (TCN) paying the Discos if the required quota is not given to them.

If you come to Niger state that accommodated three dams number on the way,you will weep for the state.

Three hrs in the day time one hr at night...

The annoying thing is their haste in disconnecting people.

Have never seen them repairing or buy a transformer for a community.

Any time we have issue with light they will disappeared and appeared with bill whenever we are done with repairs.

Question is,is this AEDC not a private business entity?

why should we continue helping them in freezing us?

Must AEDC serve us?

They reject electricity at the same time charge their customers exorbitant tariffs while remitting a fraction of their loot to the gencos. Truly everybody is scheming how to steal from everybody in this nation.
