We want Nigeria to be as developed as the "sane countries" abroad.

But we don't want to pay the price like the citizens of those "sane countries" abroad.

If we don't pay the price, how can Nigeria be as developed as those "sane countries" abroad?

Was this what you believed in 2012?

Well they are right. All those complaining about fuel hike they should bear with us, the sooner we make money and pay off our national debt the better.

If they will give us the extra money to pay,we accept. People have lost their jobs, struggling to feed and this is a good development?

Common sense!

Enter full deregulation and float the naira. The keys to development. The present policy makers like Tinubu, Bakare, Buhari, Osho, Soyinka etc they all made a mistake in 2012 in protesting against the deregulation.

We cannot float naira. We dont have what it takes to be honest. We dont produce anything, there is no way we can earn forex. The best way is a managed policy on forex.

The mistake fg is doing is that they want to fight inflation, forex and interest rate at the same time. It doesnt work that way.

Paying the price is not the issue, its using the fund judiciously.

Sounds smart but is actually not a smart statement. Those in sane countries can see clear evidence of where their taxes and payments go and what they achieve.

At this rate no one will have any money to pay for anything.

Who is even "We" in this statement, the few thousand people involved in the petroleum industry and their international business partners?

What were the loans used for, why can't does who share it contribute to refund it.
I'm not against removal of subsidy but the argument that we need it to pay back loans is lame as it isn't a guarantee that another loan won't be mismanage again.

There are steps to achieve economic boom in the face of the current crises rocking Nigeria. If we float the Naira and fully deregulate the price of petroleum products, then we will all suffer.
Deregulation simply means that oil marketers are free to source for petroleum products on their own without government intervention and they can sell the product at their own price depending on the amount they bought the commodity. This means that, when there is full deregulation, filling station A can be selling fuel at 200 naira while filling station B will be selling at 160 naira. The customers then decide where they choose to buy. When this happens, naturally customers will choose to buy from a cheaper source and the other source will be forced to reduce their price in order to sell.
On the other hand, floating the naira entails allowing the naira to be traded at the open market without the intervention of the government. Unofficially, BDC's sell a dollar at 460 naira while the governments official figure is 380, thats a difference of 80naira. This simply means that for each dollar sourced from the government, Nigerians pay the remaining 80 naira.
Now deregulation and floating the naira are two important ways of reviving the economy but you need necessary economic infrastructure in place to cushion the initial effect this move will have on the consumer. For instance, we depend majorly on crude oil to earn forex, if anything happens to the oil market we feel the impact greatly. Alot of ships coming into Nigeria with foreign products on a daily basis and those ships leave Nigeria empty without exporting anything. This is a one way traffic and it's not good for our economy.
If the government can ban all agricultural products, all textile products( including okirika), all cosmetic products, all rubber products, and allow only medical and machinery products. This step will revive our textile industry, our agricultural industry, and the glory of our former rubber industry will be restored because consumers will be forced to make do with locally produced goods.

This isn't the problem, the first thing to do is a system in place where government gives account( a breakdown) how loans secured are spent and on what then they will have the masses trust.
