Babatwi: @ babatwi: i had the same experience and i sent mine to them. they later responded that i should direct the mail to where i applied for visa which was in lagos. i eventually resent the mail to Lagos consular office and they didnt request for my passport number. which they reverted with the default response. |

Shayo5: Hello Shayo5 I'm a February 2015 Mama and I'm already in Dallas. Flew in thru DFW last week. Still searching for an Ob/Gyn or hospital with a good maternity package. Someone suggested JPS Hospital with $2500 for Normal Delivery and $1500 as Doctor's fees. I'm yet to go and check them out. Please any other leads? Best regards. 1 Like |

Praise be to God. Hubby did his interview in lagos today and got his. He said he was asked what has changed since last month that he was refused he said we were asked for doctors appt letter which i now have. And also his reason for wanting to travel he said vacation and to bring back his family. He was asked if his wife already got a visa. Said the Vo had refused everyone before him and he was hoping it wont be the lady that will attend to him. No document was requested for. We decided to be totally truthful and allow God have His way and He did it for us. 16 Likes |

Hello wonderful people in the house, pls I need ur help. I'm trying to apply for B1/B2 visa via dropbox with 2 of my family members who qualify as well. I filled the DS160 form and submitted with no problem at all but at the othersite where u book appointment or d option of dropbox, when I got to the document delivery section, I chose abuja and the page will not load any further, it keeps giving me this error message. By the way, I paid cash at GTB. I sent a mail to them and they replied that they rectified it but I'm still having the same problem. I called their no but it keeps writing no unobtainable.Pls help. oluwafunkenny: I noticed noone has responded yet..let me give it a go. 1. Changing your name after marriage is no big deal. Just attach the new passport and the old one when submitting via DropBox 2. It is up to you how you want to do this. You have 2 choices - Just complete for a regular renewal of the type of visa you had previously B1/B2. - (For this one, you definitely need the details of your intended medical treatment), as Medical is the primary purpose of your trip. Provide the doctor's/hospital info where necessary on the form. In this case, you are likely to be called for an interview. There is nothing to fear with an interview as long as you can afford to give birth in the USA and also you have made arrangements. You can browse through this thread for extensive details on this. Good luck! 1 Like |

Hi Guys, thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences. I have actually been following this thread for a long time and have read basically all the pages. 2 things 1. Please does anyone have any recent recommendations for Maryland Doctors and Hospitals. The ones I saw on here are from very old posts. Thank you! 2. I haven't travelled yet so do not have my POE story yet but my friend just shared her story at the dreaded Houston POE with me. Thought it would inspire others. She already has a toddler daughter who is a US Citizen so she was travelling with her daughter as well as being pregnant with her 2nd child. She flew BA so did not land with other Nigerian pregnant mums. POE Officer: Why are you in the United States? Preg Mum: To give birth POE: Ok, What arrangements have you made? Preg Mum: I have made all arrangements and paid. Here are my receipts (she had paid for most services in full - Guess because she had used that Dr. b4 it was easier to do that) POE: Goodluck *Stamps 6 Months*.... No secondary inspection Just goes to show, nothing to fear. As long as you are honest and prepared, even the scariest POE is a breeze by God's Grace 7 Likes |

Babatwi: @Babatwi I eventually visited JPS Hospital today. It's in Fort Worth Dallas. They gave a quote of $2500 for normal delivery, $3500 for C.S, $1500 for Og/Gyn. These fees exclude pediatrician's fees and anaesthesia which is $1600 and it is optional. The only hitch is that they requested for a proof of address in the US in your name in form of any utility bill eg phone bill, water bill or any other. The $2500 covers for all your antenatal visits and 2 sonograms. You are required to make a deposit but you must pay your bills before delivery (I think that of the pediatrician comes after delivery). I will give you details of my POE experience shortly.. 2 Likes |

Hello People, I got into the state on sunday. saw alot of preg mum at the lag airport but i was the only one eon my flight. i flew Delta and was the only one on my flight. My POE was Atlanta and had a smooth and stress-less experience. On getting to the airport, i went straight to the bathroom to freshen up. Then back to the waiting line. A white officer attended to me. No document was asked both in nigeria and atlanta (no one checked my fit to fly in Nigeria) and below is our conversation Officer: Good morning Me: morning how are you Officer: very well . thank you Officer: why are you in the USA Me: Vacation and to have my baby Officer: where in the US are you going to stay and who are you staying with Me:Florida and i am staying with my uncle. Officer: how much do you have Me: **** dollars and the naira equivalent (less than 10k) Officer: i can see you got your visa **** month. Me : yes Officer: were you pregnant during your visa interview Me: yes i was few months gone Officer: so why did you not declare Me: i was not asked specifically if i was preg Officer: and you also said you do not plan giving birth in the US Me: the question as was if we plan to have our baby in the US soon and we( i went with my husband and child) said no because we had not decided if we were going to do so or not as we had not contacted any hospital or doctors office we do not know if its something we can afford or not.. Officer: step back abit behind the red line ( he picked the fone to made a call) Me: i did and i was just saying to God to perfect what he had started. Officer: he called me back and stamped my passport and told me always to say the truth bla bla bla they r not against pple coming in to give birth and i shoiuld make sure i do not use any medical insurance and keep my receipts. He handed my passport to me and siad i should enjoy my stay. On my way out, a lady asked to see my immigration card( not sure exactly what the card is called), she took me into the secondary inspection office. i waited for less than 5min. An officer called me asked me the same questions and he was shocked when i said i am there to give birth. he stepped back and accessed me again and asked me if i was truly pregnant. they asked for the type of food item i had and i told them. one of the officers took my passport in to an inner office and when he got back he said to me i can go that i have a good record. please ignore my typo errors... this is really a long post Lastly: please if you are given any medication at the doctors office. CHECK THE EXPIRY DATE BIKOOOOOOOOOOO Wishing everyone a successful interview and smooth POE experience 11 Likes |

Hello people, Lesson learnt 1. Read the thread carefully it helps and do a lot of research personally, may be of greater help. Not every information online is true(as it seems it is difficult to control online informations) 2. Never change the flow of your application forms.stick to what you filled and defend it if sure of it. 3. Honesty preached on this thread Thank you all for the sincere posts and feedbacks on this thread. Please refer to my previous interview transcript.Seems that was the main interview.Interviewed today, was the first person to be interviewed. VO:are u next? Me: yes.we greeted(VO responded good morning with a professional face) VO: pass me your documents please( collected passport and started typing for almost a minute) VO: Are you still going for the same purpose? Us:yes VO: what has changed from the last time?do u now have the right documents now Us:yes VO:ok(kept typing).how much do you earn?(we responded) VO: do you have enough fund saved for this purpose(with a straight face) Us:yes(do u mind to see our documents) VO:No it's ok.(read and kept typing,typing,typing,typing......no smiles) VO: pick up your visa and printed the paper 15 Likes |

I answered so many people's questiions and gave feedbacks but now that I need help, people are ignoring me. Pls if anybody has any suggestions, pls share. I've tried so many times and can't figure what I'm doing wrong. Thanks |

hello. please I'm trying to find the origin of writing a letter to the u.s embassy to inform them that you now want to use the visa to give birth in the U.S. Because when one obtains a visa for tourism, for instance, and visits as intended, and then decides the second time to use the same visa to attend a course or conference, do we write the embassy to inform them of change of plans? and, medical purposes is one of the stated accepted uses of a B1/B2 visa. so, I dont know how it started that there is a need to inform visa of change of plans to medical use. or was it the V.O in the other thread who advised? |
