The Peoples Party of Nigeria governorship candidate in Ogun State Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) is the man to beat and that informed why he was adopted as its governorship flag bearer for the forthcoming April governorship election. This positive move became imperative following the intractable crisis that bedevilled the Ogun PDP. It should be recalled that Prince Isiaka had emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in a primaries conducted by the PDP NWC, monitored by INEC and all security agencies. Unfortunately, a splinter group within the party secured an injunction compelling PDP and INEC not to recognise Prince Gboyega Isiaka. Reliable sources confirms at the well attended stakeholders meeting of PPN over the weekend at Abeokuta where the electoral values of GNI were strongly put into considerations which includes among other things that he is an illustrious Yewa/Awori and with the clamour for power shift to the side which is yet to produce the governor since 35 years of the state existence. Secondly, he is a grassroot person having toured the entire length and breadth of the state. Thirdly, he represents generational change with significant youth appeal compare to other parties candidates. A first class graduate of Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University and an astute technocrat. Fourthly, he is the first Muslim governorship candidate with strong prospect of governing the State Lastly, his manifesto for the good people of the State to make Ogun state economy among top four in Nigeria by 2015 align with that of the Peoples Party of Nigeria. |
