A group, Centre for Africa Liberation and Socio-Economic Rights (CALSER), allegedly sponsored by the COAS Tukur Buratai, had on Wednesday asked Amnesty International to leave the Country within seven days or attract civil disobedience at its offices in Abuja and Lagos on a scale that will make the campaign of looting and arson it facilitated appear like child’s play.

However, Amnesty International Nigeria in a series of tweets, has insisted it will continue to carry out its activities devoid of Government, religious or commercial interests.

On threats to lives of our staff

Amnesty International is a human rights organization and not affiliated to any government, ideology, interests, political, religious or commercial. We have been working on Nigeria since June 1967. #EndSARS #LekkiTollGateShooting

SOURCE

Despite threats to our lives, through faceless organizations and sponsored protests, we will not stay silent. In the face of efforts to evade responsibility or to smear our organization, we will continue to raise our voices whenever and wherever we see injustice. #EndSARS

SOURCE

We will continue to call on the Nigerian government to use its authority and resources to investigate all allegations of human rights violations and abuses, including; rape, torture, arbitrary detentions and unlawful killings. #EndSARS  #LekkiTollGateShooting

Of course not.

And I hope those making the threats knows how brutal amnesty can be if they want to.

A word is enough for the wise.

Anybody that reports the dirty game ongoing in Nigeria is a "threat to the unity".

North knows better.

Keep carrying out your noble duties.

The faceless group has a face.

We saw APC in the face

We saw Buhari

We saw Burutai

We saw Mongono

We saw Malami

If not, an arrest would have been made by now.

That name is just an account created for the display of extreme stupidity and foolishness.

If there is a human that actually lives like the said account in real life, it is sick and the only thing it needs is pity.

Amnesty International should keep up the good job of speaking for the oppressed and keeping the government on its toes, and don't get deterred by activities of never-do-wells whom are largely sponsored by the government to change the narratives.

Once this government expire, we must jail all the authorities that are hiding evidence of violence and abuse of human rights. Please take the name and number of the officers.

Amnesty Int'l cannot and will not leave this country. Some criminal minded individuals and groups are looking for an opportunity to perpetrate hideous crimes without attracting international attention.
They must be protected at all cost!

Anyways... I have an iPad 4 for sale in PH. Check my signature for contact

When Amnesty International was reporting the Chibok girls kidnap and highlighting Goodluck Jonathan's failures & incompetence at rescuing the girls, then 'AI was the best', but suddenly became the enemy of our democracy as soon as they start reporting the lekki shootings and other military extra judicial atrocities. Same way the Social media that was regarded in 2015 as the best tool of modern campaign has suddenly become an intolerable medium.

Everybody is a morrafcker hypocrites -- Falz.

Dear Nairalanders, beware of these full-time Syncophants zombies above. They are paid to derail every news using political, ethnic and religious frivolities. Their job is to defend the many evils of the APC government no matter how bad. I pity them sha because it's not easy to sell your conscience for a token of 30k monthly.

Yep. The energy the Nigerian government is channeling into threatening Amnesty and seizing people's passports should be channeled towards addressing the root issues: lack of development and progress in the country.

Vindictive violent government.
