One good turn they say deserves another, in the same way, one bad turn doesn’t deserve another, this is the words that best described the aspiration of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Imo state bye-election, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Senator Ifeanyi Araraume emerged the candidate of the APC in a controversial manner after the court sacked an aspirant, Frank Ibezim who was originally declared the winner of the party’s primaries.

When he emerged, the question on the lips of imolites in Okigwe Zone of Imo is ‘What is Araraume looking for again?’ It kind of makes one wonder the kind of perception the people he wants to represent have about him. Once a candidate emerges and the people keeps speaking ill of him, its means such candidate isn’t credible enough to represent them.

Another thing that brought about this gross rejection is for the fact that Senator Araraume once represented the zone, He represented them for good eight years but unfortunately, there is no tangible results for the years he used in the upper chamber.

Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, during his tenure, according to Imolites didn’t give a good representation of the people in the house, rather, Okigwe zone suffered lack of employment, development, good road, infrastructure, to mention a few.

Apart from this, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has shown desperation in many ways in his political career. During his tenure as Senator representing Okigwe Zone, He was a PDP Member, but later moved to APGA to pursue a governorship ambition. He was later expelled there for anti-party activities before he later moved to APC where he is now to pursue another senatorial ambition.

Whenever desperation is involved in the pursuit of a particular course, there is always an hidden agenda which doesn’t always come out beneficial for the people. Therefore, there is need to stop this move by the senator.

He has been there, and records has it that there was no tangible development in Okigwe zone, He doesn’t deserve to be there anymore, Imolites, wake up now!

All these online propaganda and blackmail is really getting on my nerves. I'm from Imo North (Okigwe Zone) if anybody is telling you that the people are concerned about Senator Araume's emergence is honestly being economical with the truth. On Okigwe Zone suffering unemployment, poor infrastructure etc. when he was a senator really makes me wonder the kind of mindset our people have. Is it the work of the legislature or executive to provide these amenities you mentioned there? The job of the legislature is to make laws and the last time I checked there is still division of power in government. What you should say is what did he use his influence to attract during his stay in the Red Chambers? Atleast I know about a road he attracted from Anara through Aba Branch. Another question you should ask is what bills did he sponsor during his stay in the senator and what was the benefit to the masses, not this cheap blackmail.

NOTE: The days of blackmailish propaganda as a means of discrediting a candidate is gone. If you want to discredit a candidate, please be constructive and don't appear desperate.

Thanks.
