see how you guys are celebrating the purported fall of Gadhafi, the only African leader that the west listens to and fears. Soon they will put a leader that will do their bidding like your leaders do and impoverish the nation like they have done to yours through the help of shell and your selfish brothers.

The stupid Libyans will not see the trap until Gadhaffi is gone, and for those of you rejoicing, what Gadhafii did for Libya ,all your leaders put together has not been able to give 10% of it

The man's a lunatic I agree but there would have been no invasion if there was no oil in that country. Look at Sudan/Darfur & Ivory Coast, imagine all of the genocide that has been taken place in these countries yet this same people turned a blind eye. In less than 2 weeks they attack Libya. What did they expect? Did they think that they will start their propaganda wars and the man will just sit tight and watch? Y are they not doing the same thing in Saudi Arabia & Yemen? They are all raving lunatics, just that they found equal measure in Gaddafi

My friend shut your trap biko. What is it that Gaddafi did for his people? How many people are in Libya? Are they up to 6 million? Why would he not provide them all material comfort when he produces as much oil as Nigeria? If all I had to do was spend all our oil income on Surulere, will it not turn to Dubai in one month?

Even after he steals 4/5ths of the money, the change will still be more than enough to provide all the basics for his tiny population. Nigeria has done a lot more for ITS people, at least 40 million of whom are middle class, than Gadaffi has had to do with his income. Meanwhile, in Libya, thousands of political prisoners languish in jail, thousands have been killed and tortured for dissent, and political plurality is banned. That's slavery.

THE COST OF THE WAR

TORNADO

There are usually four Tornados in each sortie. The total cost of flying time there and back per plane is up to £210,000. Each aircraft is equipped with Storm Shadow missiles. These cost around £500,000 each - so if each plane fires two missiles the cost is £4million. So the total cost of one four Tornado sortie is almost £5million.

OTHER COSTS

Other British assets in play include C17 and C130 Hercules transport planes at £42,000 and £12,000 per flying hour. E3D Sentry AWACS radar aircraft scan the skies for enemy planes, at £33,000 an hour. Frigates HMS Cumberland and HMS Westminster cost £90,000-a-day to run.

SUBMARINE

Trafalgar class sub HMS Triumph has been firing Tomahawk Cruise missiles from the Med. The sub costs £200,000 a day to run and each missile costs £500,000, with up to 10 fired so far.

TYPHOON

There are 10 £70 million Typhoon jets which are new and cost more to run than Tornados. They fly at 65,000ft, at twice the speed of sound and costs per mission are as high as £350,000 per jet.

They shoud calculate all and give the Libyans after victory to pay,and after payment the west should leave the people and their oil for good,i believe by so doing, there will be issue of holding to their oil.

Can someone explain to me like I am a 5 year old - What Allied Troops are doing in Libya?

When there was ethnic cleansing in Rwanda, where was the Allied Troop?

Liberia Crisis, Sierra Leone Crisis? Where were they?

Now, because of Oil, they are in Libya?

Can we see Self-Gut-Interest?

What a dumb post, you mean no oil in Saudi arabia, reason why no invasion?
Re: Libyan Airforce ''No Longer Exists'' - Allied Commander! by Concept(m): 11:41pm On Mar 24, 2011
The end might have come for Gaddafi but he is a man who knows what he wants. If we have a leader like him; I beg not in the aspect of clinging to power at all cost oh. I mean leader that has relief programme for his people and make the country attractive for outsiders e.g Nigerians to seek to live. Imagine we have one, I believe we will chorus in consensus put 'jara' third term. The alliance is prejudicial, genocide had happened in many African countries but you will never see westerners coming.

It is just a pity, payback time for Gaddafi, reason being that, he is not white's man puppet and he has also committed attrocities against them, remember? Lockerbie plane bombing, and the main reason for the intervention is Oil . The Black Gold itself, our own country's situation in the hands of Black Gold is the least expected, the world powers know its influence on world economy therefore they do not play with it.

Do not blame me but I think this write up is to bid Mr. Gaddafi and his sons farewell. The west that stands as mediator are also a supporter of the rebels. My own interpretation of No fly zone is that no plane should fly over Libya and from the update that has been perfectly effected. The allied now shifted to bombing of the ground forces, meaning what, the rebels will be able to advance. In short Gaddafi is already counting his days.

I have a question. Assumming that during Nigeria Civil war, The allied supported Biafran and started dropping bombs on Lagos and other Nigeria sided states. How will you feel? What will be your reaction?

You ARE a 5 year old dolt. There are no foreign troops on ground in Libya.
The United Nations dropped the ball in Rwanda. In Sierra Leone and Liberia the UN provided material support to ECOMOG/Nigeria.

In Ivory Coast, the UN has thrown its full support for any millitary action by ECOMOG to oust Gbagbo.

The UN mission in Libya is supported by a substantive UN resolution. If the African Union and Arab League had the capability and the willigness (the testicles, if you will) to protect the Libyan people from their mad dictator, US and NATO planes would not be flying over Libya.

Instead of whining here, go and ask GEJ why his ECOMOG has been dilly-dallying over Ivory Coast.
