Plan to harmonise taxes Governors of the 36 states of the federation have resolved to stop contracting collection of taxes to consultants, saying the huge commission being paid out to contractors would help swell the states’ internally generated revenue (IGR). https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/12/15/governors-to-stop-tax-collection-concession-as-states-revenues-decline/

Exc2000: It is better they fight themselves, all of them are evil... Back to the topic, I still wonder how a whole state government will go broke with billions of monthly allocation, access to harness human resources, access to free lands in the state, access to some natural resources, access to foreign business partners and yet remain broke, just imagine if dangote had free access to any land let's say in oyo state, and he also has workers and a running structure just like a state government with free access to some of the natural resources in his state and access to foreign business partners, then he gets an average of 3 billion naira monthly from the federal government which is not loan, I tell you he might rank among the first ten richest men in the world, and the state will be so industrious. Then you look at all the governors always waiting for abuja or increasing the heavily multiple taxed environment which is not even well enabled for small businesses to thrive, these men do like it is a crime for the state government to have industries, production houses and so on, they just collect and collect and collect with nothing to show forth.. 17 Likes |

Tinubu's AlphaBeta GDP and Net profit solely relies on Lagos Government taxes. I don't think Lagos state's present government got the balls to do this. By the way, government keeps collecting taxes but what do they sparogatively use them for? Nothing! You want to talk about the petty projects they do? ...They are financed from international grants and many atimes loans. So it's basically Nothing they do with our taxes other than fill their bloated tummies. 6 Likes |

Better to reduce the commission to agents significantly than to give more yams to the civil servants who are the custodians of corr_ption. quote author=ijustdey post=97084718]Plan to harmonise taxes https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/12/15/governors-to-stop-tax-collection-concession-as-states-revenues-decline/[/quote] 1 Like |

Nigerian politicians keep acting like the populace are fools. They’ll open private organizations and outsource tasks to them, indirectly enriching themselves. This is 2020 where youths can even code your life. What does it cost to have a management system where citizens can pay whatever tax from the comfort of their homes? Next thing they’ll want someone to come and queue in one useless Local Government office under hot sun. Ndi ala! 10 Likes |

Some people do not understand what Alpha beta does, is it not those lazy civil servants. Alpha beta guys de smell out companies within hidden locations and will somehow get your number to remind you to pay tax. Outsourcing is the best way to run this kind of business otherwise you will have to employ people who you will need to pay gratuity at the end of their working years plus other running cost which will eat into more than the commission they are even talking about Exc2000: |
