The reason they can't do it online is same reason if u use your phone to call the police for a complaint they would hardly come to your rescue except they know u personally.

In Nigeria they want to meet with u face to face so they can collect bribe

Lalasticlala this is FP worthy, it affects NigeriAns abroad.

Op the best thing to do is to go to that embassy in Vietnam.
Take something and break all the glasses of the cars parked outside the embassy.

It works wonders. Just try it

You will surely get deported if you try that in a place like vietnam
Re: The Agony Of Passport Expiration In Vietnam by Cutealexio(m): 2:08am On Jan 07, 2021
It's supposed to be 6months before expiry because no embassy will accept passports that has less than 6months validity, you need to write a backup letter and state the reason why you're renewing earlier than the usual time
gypsey:
Right, is it possible to renew a nigerian passport 7 months before expiry? Good infor. Thanks.

Thanks for your contribution but I wish to make it clearer. My passport is not yet expired but has from now till October to do so but my resident card can not be renewed again until I renew my passport. Many have few months to expire. My friend had to travel home because he doesn't want to risk 5 years non entry and he spent not less than $3000 which he cant come back to Vietnam anytime soon. Our records are at the Immigration database with our details, what is hard for them to use the details on their database and reprint a new passport. Why can't they have a staff of Immigration at the Embassies that will be doing the capturing and be sending back to Nigeria or better still, have the matchine that can do it. We have two Embassies here in Vietnam and non is renewing passport, then of what need are they there. Nigeria issues are always the worst when it comes to helping their citizens on disapora

Very sorry about what you’re going through over there. Like a brother said above, in Beijing China, it takes less than 3-4 hours to get your passport renewed. I just renewed mine a couple of months back. And the embassy staff are so duty bound to render help to Nigerians in the diaspora. My Ghanaian and Ugandan friends were surprised how fast I could have my passport renewed, because it’s not like that for them, even my Nigerian friend in Canada was surprised, me self surprise kpa kpa. I was proud to be a Nigerian for once! So brother it is not like that everywhere. It’s not easy sometimes for governments to meet all our needs at the same intensity and time. Let’s praise them when they do right and admonish, not condemn, them when they fail to do right. I’m hoping you’ll get yours sorted ASAP! Good luck!

What do you expect when you appoint an 85 year old man as your ambassador
Re: The Agony Of Passport Expiration In Vietnam by zedegit: 5:18am On Jan 07, 2021
Lai Mohammed should respond to this.

He said that Nigeria is not a failing or failed state.

Concerning border opening he said to the best of his knowledge borders are open even when someone confirmed that there's no free moment.

Please op don't mention Ghana cos Ghana is not your mate. Things are more organized there.

Why is it that nothing about this country seems working? Ha Ha!

Why are simple things so difficult with this country sef?

Nothing is working for this country both in and outside, why?

And the painful part is, when you complain, some evil and wicked souls would start attacking you!

this sounds like adeola

Thanks to all those who contributed and to those who asked an obvious question "what are you doing in Vietnam " I will wish people make an informed researches before coming out to ask a question that will make them look lame. If I have Vietnam and Nigeria as a country to choose, I will choose Vietnam over and over again. Remember I am here on a work visa and not staying illegally. Lastly, why I am in Vietnam is because I chose it and I am enjoying what I have never enjoyed in Nigeria for the past 30 years.

I have also posted and tagged many prominent Nigerians and individuals. I hope we get speedily reply. Thank you guys for your replies

Same with the Nigerian Embassy in Atlanta. I went through hell to renew my Nigerian passport. The crowd, the chaos the incompetence. I was there from 9am till 4.30pm in the freezing cold.

And the consulate employees were so arrogant and rude...it was as if they were doing us a favor by attending to us. And the passport expires in 5yrs instead of 10yrs so we can come back quickly for more experience. I didn't go through that kind of hassle to get my US passport.

Sorry to hear of your plight. However, you'd have to go to Bangkok, Manila, or KL.

Mind you, if the criminals working at the KL office some years ago are still there, then, it's a no go area.

This is quite strange. I guess it's peculiar to Vietnam. In the Nigerian embassy in China, you can get your passport renewal in less than 8 hours. We have passport days which is every Tuesday and Wednesday. Nigerian embassy Beijing is one of the best i know who does that.

That's true because the Chinese are doing everything to keep Nigeria and Nigerians at arms length.
