EKO ATLANTIC IS A CONSTRUCTION SITE NOT A TOURIST CENTER.

Lagos state government is building that estate with tax payers' money, domestic debt and foreign debt. It isn't a private estate.

Eko Atlantic that people have finished buying plots of land for millions of naira years ago

This is a barefaced lie. You need to educate yourself.

Correct indeed. Many of the world's companies with presence in Africa have actually secured flagship space at Eko Atlantic business district. This is an iconic global and continental project that was never designed for use of Nigerians alone let alone poor Nigerians.

Sad truth is that there will always be levels in life. Aspiring to get to a better level, rather than hating those already there, is what keeps us motivated, driven, busy, hopeful and focused as human beings.

To me life is about "dont hate the player hate the game learn the game".

I understand what you are saying, that Eko Atlantic is a private estate but Lagos state government borrowed and budgeted state resources for that estate, so it isn't entirely private.

If the estate was entirely private, Lagos government wouldn't spend their money building it.

Where do some of you people get your news from? Eko Atlantic is owned by Gilbert Chagoury, a Nigerian-Lebanese billionaire. Every structure being erected there is owned by private investors. Whoever told you that it is owned by the Lagos State government lied to you, so perish the thought.

Eko Atlantic City goes beyond an Estate as people are trying to make us believe here...It called "CITY" with many landed locations.

Don't think it is appropriate to fence the area against the rest of Lagos State. It is not a crime to drive through a beautiful area in your country just to feel good even without having any other business in the area. If another big name aoccupies another very big expanse of land, build a city on it then fence it...now! how well do we enjoy the beauty of our county if we can't just have a window visit to nice places within our dear country.

This is how apartheid, racial, economic class segregations start...

Just make security very tight there with CCTVs, Patrols etcetera. And everyone would be good. The cost of things there will naturally do the needful...

Lagos State will still collect tax on it. Lagos owns the land and the water it was built on. Chagoury did not build it alone.

The area should and will not be fenced. It will be opened up like any business district in Lagos.

Sorry to rain on your loser parade but homes and space in Eko Atlantic, or other private luxury developments like Banana Island etal, is available to all who can afford them to include many rich Nigerians who will still remain the major users/residents of the development.

It's the way it is in London, New York, Paris, Joburg, Accra and many populous and cosmopolitan Cities and business destinations of the world.

If you want 'affordability' for "nigger-areans" then advise them to move to their villages or cheaper parts of Lagos and Nigeria.

You've already shown you're a loser, who has given up on being aspirational, with how you want to guilt-trip rich folks, Nigerians or otherwise, over their wealth and success. If I can afford it then I would love a seaside mansion in St Lucia. Any St Lucian who has a problem with that can go and die.

Don't need to waste you time on ops his name is Shibuzor the Ipob miscreant agent from. Alaigbo jungle.... grin

I agree. Eko Atlantic advertises itself as a city. How can you have a city with a gate preventing people from entering?

Going by your argument, Lagos owns every land in the state, yet people purchase those lands, develop them, and regulate entry into them. Eko Atlantic is no different from say Banana Island either, because you can't just enter there anyhow.

Chagoury group dredged and reclaimed the land from the sea and sand-filled it for development (not LaSG). It can choose to regulate entry/exit to and from the estate to maintain its intended character. The state government merely played a regulatory role as a stakeholder.

More images of Eko Atlantic gate. Nigger-areans highlighted in blue. Maybe the developers are scared that the nigger-aeans will sneak into the area to steal something?

Lagos State Government owns everything land and water body within the boundaries of Lagos State and can withdraw Claims of Ownership of anyone at will. Now, Eko Atlantic is a planned business district and not an estate so it cannot be locked up. Chagoury did not single handedly do all of Eko Atlantic and by the way he is a front.

Guy, you don't know what you are talking about. Banana Island is a gated community that hosts hotels, offices in High Rise buildings, and private residences, and you still cannot enter there anyhow just because it hosts businesses. Eko Atlantic is just a larger version of banana island. Apartments there are priced in u.s dollars and run into millions of dollars. It wasn't planned to be an all-comers affair like the Marina CBD for example (it is being built to accommodate just 250k people, in a city/state of over 20-million, that right there should tell you all you need to know).

Right now as we speak, there are restaurants you can visit within Eko Atlantic that can enable you gain access into it, based on reservation. But this idea of yours that it is to be opened to every Tom, Dick and Harry is a farce. Go and read up on it.
