[BREAKING] Edo gov poll: Court disqualifies Ize-Iyamu’s running mate

The Edo State High Court sitting in Benin on Wednesday voided Audu Ganiyu, the All Progressives Congress deputy governorship candidate in the September 19, 2020 governorship election.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kadiri Oshoakhemhe, had in a suit No: B/358/20 filed a case against the APC deputy governorship candidate and two others.

Delivering judgment in Benin City, the presiding judge, Justice H.A Courage-Ogbebor, said that Ganiyu presented false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission in his Form EC9.

Ganiyu was the running mate of Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the APC governorship candidate in the last governorship election won by Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party.

How can a court nullify a candidate that didn't even win? It's obvious obaseki has paid the judges. He knows he will loose the case in Abuja, he's doing everything to remain there

It seems obaseki has seen the future about what will happen next week and there is no hope for him. This is just another delay tactics.

What'sup with all these rampant cases of certificate forgery and submission of false information? This shows a clear picture of the country we are in. A lot of people are working in both public and private sectors with forged certificates. These cases are just brought up because the opponents want to use it against the person.

If the judgement stands, that means that even if Ize-Iyamu wins Obaseki at the court, he(Iyamu) won't still be sworn in as the governor

Obaseki’s desperation should be obvious to everyone by now. His supporters have been going about social media claiming he has no case to answer in the forgery and perjury case filed against him by Ize-Iyamu. Yet, he has been applying desperate delay tactics and now he want to use his state high court judge to thwart the ongoing case at the high court knowing fully well thst it is time bound.

Hopefully, justice Ahmed Mohammed won’t fall for this jankara judgement. He should ignore this case and go ahead to deliver judgement in the case before him. All parties should then meet at the appeal and Supreme Court.

Why is Obaseki so desperate? Something is wrong somewhere for him to be employing all these desperate measures.

The Court said it has become academic and therefore threw it out.

This one is a different one and I have my reservations as well.

This one na black market judgement. We need an independent judiciary. The way our judiciary is today,it's subjugated under certain split forces.

True.well,what do we expect from a state high court controlled by obaseki? I remember when that case was filed just before that of William edobor,we argued it and agreed that it is the same thing as Mohammed and mohammadu or livi and livinus in atiku vs buhari supra.shuaibu has a similar problem and it will end same way
