President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said ransom payments would continue to prosper kidnapping.

He said: “The time has come to reverse, completely, the grim and heartbreaking incidents of kidnapping”.

Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, urged the police and the military to go after kidnappers and bring them to justice.

He expressed “overwhelming joy” over the release of abducted schoolgirls of Zamfara State, saying “I join the families and people of Zamfara State in welcoming and celebrating the release of these traumatized female students.”

Buhari, who said he was excited that their ordeal came to a happy end without any incident, noted that “being held in captivity is an agonizing experience not only for the victims, but also their families and all of us.”

He called for greater vigilance by the people so that human intelligence could be collected early enough to nip the bandits’ plans in the bud, while celebrating the release of the students.

They just want to survive and they don't know how, because they're uneducated and their livelihoods are been taken by climate change and farmers.

The best way is what mutawalle is doing. Intergrade them into communities, let them into business and politics. Majority of fulani's are intelligent and superior. They literally are the first rulers of this land before and after the Colonials.

Truer words have never been spoken......
God bless our darling Daddy President Muhammadu Buhari and his amiable Vice president Prof Yemi Osinbajo for all they are doing to make this once battered, looted and raped nation for many many years work again.
God bless Nigeria.
This too shall pass.

Gordaz says so.
And this is true!
The fact that kidnapping is prevalent in this country is partly because for over a decade people have been paying ransoms without involving the law, because they are afraid.

So they should be allowed to kill victims?

Yes, that is the harsh bit of it

Because the more we pay ransoms, the more we attract people with criminal minds into it

This is the first reasonable comment from the President this year. But do something fast to put a stop to this menance. You sure know those behind this, get them to pay for it if you too are not an accomplice.

It's already on record that Nigeria has one of the finest Constitution in the world, with zero implementation.

We know the right thing, but walking the path is the problem

Exactly. Zero implementation.
Kidnapping is life imprisonment and death penalty in some states but till now nothing.
