Does Omotola even try to look good? She's not meeting small people anymore. She looked horrible at the Grammys, and again she's not looking her best with a music legend.

I'm not a hater, but Nollywood stars are supposed to look their best. They're very lucky Nigerian media is nothing like American and UK media. Every single one of them would be torn to shreds for their lack of interest in their physique. Except for Genevieve. She's the only role model in terms of physique that comes to mind right now. It's because of her physique she has any chance of crossing over to yankee/UK films. They are extremely strict with weight/appearance. Imagine Jennifer Aniston having to lose weight for roles. Omotola, Rita Dominic, and others would never be considered. Even if not for movies, for themselves at least. Overweight/obesity can lead to heart disease, heart attack, or diabetes. Being famous and having money doesn't mean they should become balloons.

You must have a very different definition of obesity, unless we're  looking at different pictures.    I'm also pretty sure there are actors in hollywood who are much bigger than Omotola so your comment really doesn't make any sense

Nowhere in my post did I say Omotola is obese. The comment didn't make sense because you didn't read it properly.

Yes, there are actors in Hollywood bigger than her. So what? Does that make it okay? The ones bigger than her here are shredded by the media, trust me. Nigerian actors and actresses have it very easy. I'm willing to bet that most of the Nollywood stars we've seen in films are overweight according to BMI (body mass index).

Hmkay. Well I've seen this kind of comment a million times. Let me be the first to put my picture in support of my opinion. I usually don't wear dresses or anything of that nature, but I did the evening I met Van Vicker and Koby Maxwell. You only have one chance to make a first impression. She should dress with that thought in mind. Look at my display picture. I'm telling you now that I looked better that night than Omotola did with Michael Bolton. No hiding for my end.

Well, if you weren't referring to her being obese then there was no need to bring up the issue of obesity into this discussion.  Whether obesity is okay or not the truth is we can't have a world where everyone is the right weight and size as much as everyone would love that.  You think some of those obese people you see don't wish they could look as good as your slim hollywood stars?  What's your definition of most, here you go again making ridiculous statements and before you go there, I know what the BMI is and how its calculated.  Yea you look okay in that picture but trust me there is nothing special about that dress to  make a memorable first impression so get over yourself already

The Truth is when you become a celebrity you also become a Public Opinion and right now the Court of Public Opinion says Celebs should try to get fit, women lose the gut and wear clothes that make it worth the public's while to read about u.

Lol. There is every need to bring obesity into the discussion. I'm not knocking her dress. I'm knocking her protruding belly. It's not only this picture either. Her look at the Grammys was worse than this (outfit included). Nigerians have this very strange disease. When they're not famous or don't have as much money, they look fine. When they become rich and famous, they all gain 50 pounds. Examples? Omotola Jehinde, Rita Dominic, Ini Edo, Nkiru Sylvanus, Emeka Ike, Desmond Elliot, Pat Attah, as well as others. She's not the only one to have had children. I'm not skinny either. If I had a bulge somewhere, I'd cover it up at the least.

"Most" is not a ridiculous statement at all. I'd love to go back home and measure the Nollywood stars we know and love. Olu Jacobs? Overweight. Pete Edochie? Overweight. Patience Ozokwo? Overweight. OMOTOLA? She doesn't look obese, but she certainly is overweight. Am I wrong? If they weren't famous, I wouldn't care. People look up to the celebrities though. They have examples to lead. That's just how the world works. If no one was looking for Halle Berry or Jennifer Aniston, you think they wouldn't indulge in cakes and fried chicken?

I didn't change my picture to show off that dress. I'm talking about putting oneself together and looking presentable amongst celebrities/company. It's not difficult. Nothing to get over. I simply responded to someone.

I still don't see how the names you mention equate to most Nollywood stars.  Another thing you seem to forget is the cultural difference in both countries, while I'm not in anyway condoning being overweight the truth is in some cultures in Nigeria some people see being overweight as a sign of beauty, strange as it may sound.    Some people would even argue that Jennifer Anniston is underweight and that is every bit as bad as being overweight.  Also i'm sick off all the rubbish I keep hearing about celebrities supposed to be leading examples.  It may shock you to know that celebrities are human too and as such they are allowed to have their own flaws.  You don't need to look up to a celebrity to know what is and isn't good for you, those who do are the ones with the problem.  There are people who indulge in cakes and fried chicken and still manage to stay in shape or are even underweight,  there are many factors involved in determining ones weight and size.
