That is wrong of the Federal government. The money was looted from the state's treasury hence the money belong to Delta state and not the federal government. The state government should proceed to the court immediately. Abubakar malami is the second most useless attorney general after Aondoaka Nigeria has ever produced.

I agree with you

Why not use the money to fund projects in the South-South where the funds were originally looted from?
If not the East-West Road from Delta to Calabar, then it should atleast be used to fix the Warri- Benin expressway that is in a sorry state!
I wonder why the DSP Omo-Agege didn't use his influence, yet he's from Delta State!
Misplaced priorities are all I can see.

The money belongs to those who recovered it. Delta State citizens love their thieves and indeed praised Ibori for being a great son witch-hunted by Federal 'Cowment'.

Indeed you dimwits asked popular questions like 'How much did Ibori 'stole?'". So, the only legacy is calling that Bridge - Thief Ibori Bridge grin

That's the best the north could produce. You don't blame them. The money belongs to deltans and if they don't fight for it in court, it's their wahala. What I expect the federal govt to do is award a contract in the area the state has need and supervise it without allowing g one kobo to land in the hands of okowa. That is fair enough.

I totally support the FG. Surely, this will discourage other governors from looting their states dry, because if they are caught the recovered money will never come back to their states rather it will be used for the interest of all Nigerians .

Try to know what is happening.
Delta state claimed several times that nothing was missing when Ibori left.
So,how do you claim something that was not missing?
Ask his cousin(Uduaghan) again?
Ask his party man and friend(Okowa)?
Dem tell you say nothing is technically missing

I thought they've awarded the second Niger bridge and Lagos Ibadan expressway already, why are they now telling us they want to use this Money to complete those projects again? Abi dem don loot the money meant for those project ni? If truly they want to use the money to develop Nigeria then they should start a new project with it, they should stop deceiving us and tell us they want to share the money between themselves.

Awarding a project and financing it are two different things. When projects of that magnitude are awarded, the payments are made in phases (it's called a milestone).

They always start with the mobilization fee and keep financing it as the project progresses.

If they refuse to release the funds for a particular milestone as stated in the contract, the contractor may decide to dump the project. That's why there are abandoned projects here and there.

However, there are instances where the contractor is encouraged to fund the project to a certain extent after the initial payment with promises that the government will pay them because they are expecting some money.

In the end, the contractor may go to court because the government refused to honour the agreement. That's always the case in Nigeria. But then, contractors always vacate the site because they know that Nigeria's government is not trustworthy.

So, budgeting, awarding and financing a project are three different things.

Was Ibori a former president or did he occupied any federal government office?

If the FG is not dumb and stupid they should that that said amount belongs to the peaceful people of Delta State.

Mallam, they awarded the contract then they began sourcing for the monies for the projects. The fact that they awarded the contract does not mean they have the cash to do it or that they will ever complete it.

There's nothing wrong with such, his stuges are still in government in Delta state, if the money is returned to Delta state, they will give it back to him(Ibori)

I think it's unfair to use Delta State loot to fund key regional projects.

On a second thought, Okowa will just share that money with Ibori if it ever returns to that state.

IMO, anti-graft agencies should have an in-house unit which ensures that government officials use recovered loots for the purposes they are intended to. So, every recovered loot should be returned to the state it was stolen from with the agency keeping close tabs on how it is spent.

Similarly, when loots are recovered through a legal proceeding with the federal antigraft agency pursuing such cases, the FG and state (where the loot originated from) should share the recovered loot in a certain percentage, say State: 70%, FG: 30%.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CAN RETURN THE MONEY BY NOT GIVING THE MONEY DIRECTLY TO THE DELTA STATE PDP GOVERNMENT.

They should use it to fund pressing projects in Delta state without giving the money directly to the Delta state government.

THE SINS OF JAMES IBORI SHOULD NOT BE USED TO PUNISH THE SUFFERING MASSES OF DELTA STATE.

THEY CAN USE THE MONEY TO BUILD SKILL ACQUISITION CENTRES IN DELTA STATE TO TRAIN YOUTH ON SKILLS

I've got a question guys, abeg the several Abacha loot received by this administration, which projects was it used for? Paris club refund share among states and FG abeg indicate if there is a completed project in your state with the inscription that Paris club refund fund was used to fund such project. Let's not talk about the shady sukuk bond project, lokoja, abuja and Kaduna express way how far? That cut and join sukuk project destroyed that road the more. Now you want to use a state money to fund a federal project, Malami well so?

Then the money should have been named Nigeria loot or FG loot.

Or is Ibori Nigeria Government? Has he ever worked for the FG?

While Abacha’s loot was shared to the poorest of the poor with no trace!

Ibori’s loot should go to the state coffers and not the FG purse.

I really do not care at the end cos if it goes to the state it will be re-looted but the FG has no right to decide on what to do with the funds
The money actually belongs to you & Delta State, please show me where you & Delta State ever complained money was missing from your accounts? Mumu, they should hand over the money to Okowa, ibori’s stooge, so he can hand it over to his master? You try Mumu.

Then why are u siting a toll gate on the bridge?
Dont be unfortunate .
always find out the reason for things before you judge so your judgement can be rational...
Have you found out why the bridge is there??
Have you found out how and where the money for funding the bridge is coming from?
Just don't open your mouth waaaaaaah and talk trash.
You obviously know less than nothing about the 2nd Niger bridge.
